Cavs in contract talks with Fesenko

I can't see Elson as any substitute for Fesenko. I have no idea what the contract negotiations are doing, but I sure would like to see him signed. While the Jazz with Fesenko aren't perfect, they are seriously imbalanced in how they can match up to certain situations without him.

Actually he isn't far off. He gets so jumpy/nervous at the start of minutes because he feels like he has to prove something that it often works against him in quick fouls/turnovers. Notice the games when Jerry doesn't pull him immediately and you see him settle down.

I'm sort of inclined to believe this. I know I'll catch all kind of crap about living up to my moniker for saying so, but my preference to start to season (if Fes re-signs) would be to have Fes and Millsap start together and bring Jefferson off the bench -- at least until AL catches on to playing Jazz basketball. I think you'd see much better production from Fes this way. (Course I don't know how it would sit with Jefferson. But didn't a bunch of us go bonkers last year when Boozer said he couldn't see himself coming off the bench?)

I would rather start AL and Fess than Millsap and Fess but they need to and will start Millsap and Jefferson until Okur returns. Now when Okur comes back I like Millsap and Fess off of the bench together with Okur and Jefferson as the starters.

What does Fess do well again? I'm trying to figure out why we want him back

Spaceeater. PaintClogger.
His lack of mobility catches up to him vs the better teams tho... If he gets an offer > $2 mil to eat up someone else's space, he won't be back in a Jazz uniform, IMO...

Fess is actually more mobile than Okur if you watch them on the floor together.

Al coming off the bench for Fes? LOL

I know there are all sorts of good arguments against me here. But here's what I'm thinking. If Jerry goes with someone inexperienced as a starter, as he has sometimes been known to do, it might as well be Fes. Though clearly starters don't always play with starters and reserves with reserves, I think there's better scoring, rebounding, passing, and defensive balance throughout the course of the game if you have Fes/Millsap and AK/Al pairings.

Even though Al just got here, he is too valuable to go behind a big sloth of an idiot like Fes.

I'm not saying Al shouldn't get starter minutes, just that I'd rather see Fes getting minutes than Elson. Given that, I think it's worth thinking about what C/PF combos work best in which situations throughout the game. Maximizing time for AK/Al and Millsap/Fes makes some sense to me, and (esp. if Fes gives more consistent performances knowing that he'll play the first 5-6 minutes of the games) perhaps the best way to do this is have M/F start. Who knows though -- Jerry will have to make decisions on chemistry.
