Central tank command : the official thread

Just wondering... the jazz have been lights out as of late without Hood and Gobert. What happens when they get healthy?

Will the jazz be even better, on par or worse? Don't construe this as me saying trade Hood or Gobert, it's just that chemistry is so good right now.

What happens to Favors and Burks?

And look, if you want to project that Mitchell will become the best player years down the line, sure, have your opinion.

If you are saying at this very moment Mitchell > Gobert, please gtfo and stop having opinions.

Well my reasoning was Joe was more consistent than Mitchell's variance of performance, but when the high end of your variance includes 41 points I guess I have to give that the nod. And if your recall, I had them 3 ranked as 2a, 2b, and 2c which shows how close I had them.

I don't think it's bias, I think it's just having long-term memory and respecting years of work.
And look taking the ranking of Ingles, Favors, and Hood is one thing. Those are 3 non All-Stars who are role players (besides Favors who is a really good player in a primary roll man role). Taking the place of Rudy Gobert who is a DPOY runner-up, 2nd team All-NBA center, and someone who basically makes the Jazz defense top 3 overall when without him they are just average is an entirely different thing and not something I'm just going to concede to a rookie.

I didn' expect you to concede. I only expeced you not to be dismissive.

So you wouldn' trade Gobert for a Mitchell?

Why not? What does it matter if he's a rookie? You're the type of dude that would make a guy pay his dues just for the sake of convention aren't you? It's obvious this is Donovan's team and has been since before Rudy went out. As great as Rudy is on defense he can not put our team on his back and take over a game like Donovan can. Your take on Donovan has been overly hedged since the start and your ego won't let you admit it.

Burks can still get a lot of minutes with Hood. It's just O'Neale who is going to get his minutes crunched. Same with Favors, it will just be Udoh losing all of his minutes (which is kind of sad cuz Udoh is such a great defender, but the dude is *** on offense).

If I'm starting a team I take Gobert over Mitchell.

I know for a fact I can build a top 5 defense without question as long as I have Gobert.

Fair enough.

I don't think that works with the emphasis on small ball and the ever expanding 3 pt shot though.

I'l go with Mitchell's diversity, range and leadership.

Who cares? They are both Jazzmen for the next 4 years. You think it matters of Warrior fans care if Durant or Curry is better. Or Sixers with Simmons and Embiid?

Does anything we write on message boards matter? Do any of our opinions matter? Why do we even have opinions?

Yes, I'm sure it's a huge point of argument on Sixers and Warriors boards who the best is because these are conversations that people are interested in for w/e reason.

@Cy
I deleted your quote from my post in case you also want to edit and avoid the dumb hammer.
