Chad Ford caught changing past draft boards to make himself look better

I have even more sinister suspicions about his mock drafts and his hype-job pre-draft, but since I have no evidence for that I'd shut up.

This guy on reddit comes really close to my suspicions:

I worked for a prominent NBA agent years ago. Chad Ford came by our office a few times and was buddy/buddy with the agent. He would always write puff pieces about the agent's clients while he was in town and would without fail shoot the clients up his draft board and call them "fast risers" based on "sources" who were impressed with their workouts. None of our clients ever had a bad workout. I never put an ounce of stock into anything he's written since that time.

I read something about that on Grantland (I think) not long ago. That kind of behavior is well known to happen all the time in sports journalism.

Oh, yah, I've seen that one... I really don't like that practice... There is absolutely no reason to believe anything of Woj's editorials, the only thing that seems reliable is his info, which is what I use him for exclusively. His opinion pieces are ... pieces of crap for the most part...

With Chad Ford the worse thing is that it seems like he's more in the hype business than the reporting business... I honestly have no idea what part of his reporting/opinion pieces I can trust.

OK, but I doubt GMs read Chad Ford's mock and said to themselves "Oh we better pick that guy - he's so HOT RIGHT NOW!!!"
