Chances the core 4 stick together?

Something I've been thinking about. Fast forward 5 years, do we still have all of them? This is seriously one if the things I'm most worried about. Not just because I think all of them have all star potential, but just because I like them. I hate to think of Burks or Favors playing for another team. Whether its as an all star or just a role-player. So what do you guys think? I think a lot of it depends on the resigning of Millsap and or Jefferson. By signing them, we are using up cap space and at the same time taking away minutes, which the core may not put up with for much longer.

In some ways I'm not worried - because if all four do indeed become above-average players it becomes very difficult to keep them and if we're smart (like the Spurs&Thunder), we will identify 2-3 of them to keep longterm and trade the other(s) for cheaper talent on rookie-scaled contracts or future assets.

In other ways I am worried that things won't workout that way because maybe some of them don't develop as hoped (and maybe that's because the Jazz stifle some of that development), maybe the organization ticks them off to the point they want to leave in free agency even if it means taking less money, and maybe the team/coaches decides they won't be as good as everyone else thinks they are and would rather bring in established vets to build around.

With how much the Jazz play Favors, Kanter, and Burks no reason to worry about the core 4 not sticking together. Lol, maybe the Jazz think that not playing them or starting them results in them not being overpaid! I so wish the Jazz traded Millsap and Big Al last month. Kanter/Favors need the minutes to play.

Because we've decided to take the farm team approach and develop these guys at a snails pace by the time they are contending we will lose them in FA. The ones who pan out that is.

Nice job Jazz.

We have to build through the draft so we do get them through the draft and develop them so damn slowly we will get only a couple years to compete with them and then they leave and we are back to "the future"

This cycle will be viscious.

Kanter gives me the most faith. He frequently tweets about how he's a Jazz man for life, and stuff. So I'm not nervous there.

Hayward is most likely too humble to take off. Plus, this is gonna be his team next year. He doesn't get that opportunity anywhere else. If we hold onto Evans, I think we'll be able to secure Gordon.

Favors might just be quiet and chill enough to enjoy the small market.

Burks is kind of awkward during interviews and stuff, but his on court swagger makes me think he'd like a bigger market. Who knows, maybe he hates the media too much to not wanna play somewhere big.

I just really hope they get along, and love each other. I want them to want to play together.

Too early to say, it mostly depends on how money shakes out. It's pretty clear they all like each other or at least like playing together.

I guess Burks will be out of SLC in the off season after a trade and Favors, Kanter and Hayward will be with the Jazz. All we need is pure PG who can contribute immediately. I really wished Millsap- Bledsoe trade would happen because of it.

Maybe we resign Paul, trade him and Burks to the Clippers for Bledsoe.

this thread is depressing. I need happy thoughts.

Al isn't playing tonight.

Despite the damage made by Ty and his crew, very high.

But if either Derrick or Alec leaves, it will start the destruction.

I agree with the OP..... I am fully invested in all 4 guys and love them all...... it would really suck to see any of them in another uniform.

However, i dont really think it is possible to keep them all together. (the odds are against us on that) So i expect to lose 1 or 2 of them. :(
