What's new

Charlottesville

Wasn't trump's daddy a kkk member and was arrested in 1927 for his participation in a kkk rally in New York? I wonder if his views have influenced his son's?

There's evidence of him being brought in. But he was released; not charged or charges dropped.

Kind of a running gag with the trumps... they gotta come in for something(KKK, Draft), but somehow manage not to be charged/drafted.

Huh.

well i guess i will never move to virginia... pretty weird tho. i went to monticello last year and thought it was a great place to live. guess i didn't run into these ****ers

the funny thing about all this is we are giving these haters exactly what they want a moment in the spot light. If we ignored them and let them spew their hate and walk on by, as long as there is no violence, they will disappear because they are not getting the attention that they wanted.

Maybe, maybe not. That's an assumption/opinion rather than a fact.

Yes. "Look at the progress they're making!" is exactly what the far right are looking at.

And no.. we haven't crossed the line of more harm than good. You're welcome to that opinion, but recognize that it gives weight to the people that just ran over an innocent woman because she had a difference of opinion.

Not because she was throwing a stick
Not because she was flashing her gun
Not because she was threatening violence

Because she had a largely peaceful idea of what America is on track to become someday. You know.. unless the far right "take their country back".

They won't. The vast majority of the public is opposed to them and rightfully so. As far was what the far right is looking at I say let them look as the rest of us come together, start talking again like we are and get back to making progress.

We are just going to disagree on the more harm then good point. I feel that the violence used by groups like antifa is what gives weight to incidents like the car crash.

It's appalling how people can be anti Nazi but pro ANTIFA at the same time without realizing they are two faces of the same coin.

See, I don't agree with this. Aside from tendency to use violence they are not at all comparable.

Bad publicity is still publicity.

But dat unchecked racism and misdirected hostility, yo.

Care to elaborate?

Sure.

As mentioned in this very thread you have to look at their motivations, beliefs and goals.

"Unite The Right" is based off the principle that one "race" is superior to the other. Hate and suppression are core tenants of its belief and motivation.

One is based off a desire for social progress and increased government benefits and fairness. It is not based off of hate based on skin tone, orientation, religion...

One is a hate movement and the other is not.
