Miles comes in and shoots a lot. When he's hitting, he reminds me of Jamal Crawford. When he's on and off, he reminds me of Vernon Maxwell or JR Smith. When he shoots 1 for 7, he reminds me of Rafer Alston.
The fact that he reminds you of so many players shows how versatile the guy is. It is a shame he is not on the all star ballot
speaking of cj as the next ginobli;
So at worst, right now he is 6th man for 6th man of the year.I read on NBA.COM that CJ was in the top 6 right now for 6th man.
Not any more than if you change the names and numbers to say "AK is getting paid 18 million, MAX PLAYER money. That is why he is a MAX PLAYER."This is why people see CJ as such a disappointment.
Miles is not a star. Not a 6thman. Not a 20ppg scorer.
Miles is a good ROLE PLAYER that can help tilt a game in your favor.
He is getting paid 3.7 million, ROLE PLAYER money. That is why he is a ROLE PLAYER.
See what I am getting at here?

So what?
Even Wes Mathews was a role player last season. And he was pretty consistent. Despite being a rookie.
If you are going to play the "role player" card for Miles, then it doesnt fly in the face of Miles wanting to jack up shots like Ray Allen every night anyways.
Wes Mathews, Millsap(even in his rookie year) and Harpring(in his first 2-3 yrs with the Jazz) are pretty good examples of role players who were also consistent. It is not unfair to hold Miles to those standards. Even Watson this year has been pretty consistent for that matter.
You talk as if being a role player and being consistent is always mutually exclusive.

CJ's salary is not highly relevant to the discussion as to whether he's a 6th man or a star or something in between. And your comment relies on the dubious assumption that players are paid what they are worth. Such is not the case for CJ or AK; it hasn't been the case for Millsap, either, and probably still isn't.

<< ducking >>
Good math. By that logic I think you mean 156th?So that means he's the 36th best player in the league.
Defending CJ, I think that he is being mis labeled as a chucker. His roll this year is to be a scorer and in order to do that you have to SHOOT the ball. When he's on the floor with Fes, Elson, Price and Watson (which happens much of the 2nd Q this year) who else is going to put points up? Do you really want to rely on Fes to keep us in games?
