There are more I am sure of but just a quick few form the top of my head, here are some Stevens and Snyder similarity in arguments for the regular season:
Both lost Hayward
Both lost the previous years starting PG
Both got new PG had to integrate into new team (albeit Kyrie is a better player and the offense was geared towards him)
Both had high level rookies (albeit that Mitchell was leaned on more and more and became the #1 offensive scoring option)
Both had major roster turnover from the previous year (albeit BOS was because they acquired major talent upgrade so had to let several players go due to cap reasons and the Jazz had to add lower level FA's to fill out their roster)
Both had to deal with multiple and major injuries

Expectations, BOS was favored to be a top 2 seed in the East
Eastern Conference, BOS is in the Leastern conference, while improved from prevoius years still not nearly as good.
