For the record, I don't think there's anyway in hell that Rose would leave BYU for Utah, but in chatting with some Ute friends there seems to be growing sentiment that Chris Hill would at least give Rose a call to gauge his interest assuming Boylen is fired.
The only reason I find it interesting is because of the timing. Rose is losing Jimmer, who is probably the best player in BYU history and I don't think the Davies situation is helping. Chris Hill would try to sell Rose on the fact that he could stay in-state, continue recruiting Utah/LDS players as well as having a broader recruiting base when it came to non-mormon athletes. Not only that, Rose wouldn't have to worry about whether or not his players are having sex with their girlfriends. Oh yeah, and Rose could coach in the Pac12 as opposed to the WCC.
If for some reason it were to happened, I'm not quite sure how I'd feel. While I think Rose is certainly a good coach and hands-down the best in-state recruiter out of all the in-state Coaches, he's never advanced in the NCAA Tourny without Jimmer. With that being said, he'd certainly be an upgrade over Boylen.
