What's new

Cody Williams Hype and Appreciation Thread

Cody's FG% is up over 8 percentage points this year compared to last year.....obviously because he's focusing on dunks and layups. He's made 3/10 3PAs in January. Not good, but not completely hopeless either.

Crazy what a couple of cool dunks can do for a player.

I've always maintained Cody's biggest flaw was his complete lack of confidence. Now that he knows he can dunk, he's actually playing a bit harder/faster and not just pussyfooting around every possession. I actually look forward to Cody minutes now.

I think Hardy is going to slow play this new found confidence. It could quickly reverse if the Jazz give him the ball a bit too much
Nah, his whole demeanor has improved, really don't think it is all that fragile. Hopefully it'll keep spreading to other aspects, like his outside shot, but he already KNOWS he can pass/dunk/defend, so I don't think we need to worry about reversion, just hoping it keeps expanding his portfolio.

I think the offense being overall better this year makes Cody a bit more viable on the court. Doesn't feel like the Jazz need Cody to force anything in the half court for him to be useful. The offense is flowing effectively enough with the upgrades from Lauri/Key there enough advantages on the offense for Cody to take advantage of here and there

Still get some possessions that end in a wide open corner 3 and him being able to knock those down will go a long way in making him playable for a team trying to win
