I'm more concerned with his shooting actually. I had a different opinion of this last draft than most but thus far none of the rookies are really impressing a whole lot. Jamal Shead, Edey, Clingan and Missi are doing well enough I guess.

He’s like 15 yo playing in a league of men. He’s gonna be trash this year and really good in 4-5 years.
Its been 4 games...
Last two games Cody has made actual basketball moves to get to the basket. He seems to have found a higher gear on his drives instead of just driving at half-speed and losing the ball before he can even get into a scoring motion, which is a huge improvement.
Also, Tidjane Salaun has been really really really bad, so at least Cody isnt currently the worst top 10 pick from the 2024 draft.

Some nice highlights by the young guys here. Cody's main skill offensively is getting downhill and using his length to finish at a high rate. He can still do those things against other guards and some wings. Big defenders have been turning him back though. At 1:10, Jerami Grant forced Cody to pass out on one of his drives, which happened to be an assist on a 3PA. At 1:38, Cody is able to get by Scoot for a bucket.
Cody had several nice passes at full speed in this game.

I do love how quickly Cody gets to the rim off his extension. Just needs to add strength a bit more vertical pop so he can finish stronger.

Again - it’s Portland. . . but I liked how all of the young guys looked in that game. If Key doesn’t hit front of the rim on that last shot, it’s a huge win for those guys.
Cody, Collier, Flip, Key and Sensabaugh all showed up to play. KJ Martin looked solid too. Really encouraging.
Cody's made 10/21 3PAs (48%) over his last 7 games. He was 16/35 (46%) from the field and also made 8/9 FTs (89%) over that time.
