Almost as embarrassing as celebrating, "We're actually going bowling this year guys! Yay! Utah FANS are we! Cheerio!"

Then again, when you haven't had a winning season in years going bowling and playing some crappy MWC opponent I guess becomes a pretty big deal.

But yah, Uties are "so over us."

LOL. Like the divorced wife you want us to think you're over us and never actually mattered and that you're actually dating tons of other guys. Which, yah, us BYU fans totally see. Every game we win we see you invade social media and show how you're "over us."

Want to truly show you're over us? STOP FLOODING EVERY SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLET BAD MOUTHING BYU EVERY WAKING SECOND.

Just check out the Twitter feeds of Hans, Wrubbel, and Gunther to see how "totally over" the rivalry you and your ilk are. The fact that more Utah fans post after BYU games than Utah games tells us volumes.

I just can't help but wonder if a large percentage of the vitriol that Utah fans show towards BYU is the result of their conscience weighing heavily on them? I'd like to know the percentage of anti-BYU/Utah fans who are inactive compared to the ones who are active.

I wonder that cheering against BYU has now become a past time of the inactive lashing out because the predominate religion here in Utah didn't support their lifestyle?

My brother went to the game in Nebraska and said that their fans were friendly, competitive, and overall just fun. Basically the opposite of the last 3-4 Holy War games played up at Rice. It felt like me wearing a blue shirt up there was somehow an attack on their life decisions. To borrow a popular phrase, "you don't know me!" Yet, most Utah fans tailgating and otherwise assumed that I was a bishop and was angry at them for drinking. As if I cared back then.

Only recently have I become curious as to the dynamics of this strange rivalry. Quite honestly, I've never seen anything like it. USC and UCLA don't have it. Cal and Stanford don't have it. Oregon and Oregon St don't have it. It's quite interesting to see the hatred that Utah fans have towards BYU. It's like it extends into politics, religion, and life.

The only other team that shows this amount vitriol might be San Diego St, and we all know their hostility towards Mormons.

So why do Utah fans despise BYU so much? Is it because of the church? I get that Collie and Hall didn't help things with their comments. And I get that urban, crowton, Whitt, and bronco aren't exactly buddies. But I don't recall this level of hostility under McBride and Edwards.

So why the sudden increase? Gay marriage? The booze laws that the church influences? Why? I wonder...

You do realize that about 90% of your college football posts are about Utah and their fans and not about BYU?

My least favorite fans, those who spend the majority of their time hating the opponent, rather than supporting their own team. So many in this rivalry.

First of all, no. I'm pretty balanced. But you can't help but fault me for fighting for my boys.

Secondly, I'm not over the rivalry and never claimed to be. I'm super pissed off still that Hill canceled the rivalry game. I hate what's happened to college football. I hate the direction it's going. It's becoming the NFL.

Sure it's weird. It's also coming from a coach that has always been criticized for being too stoic and robotic in the past.
It's also weird how people like ugli are so obsessed with byu.

And remember, winning on a hail Mary like that probably won't happen for a long long long time. Very rare. I think it's okay to be over excited after that type of win. Especially when byu has not had allot to be excited about in a while

why would I be a fan of one team over the other? I have zero reason to have allegiance to either team.

I've been making fun of BYU way more because they've deserved to be made fun of way more. Their team has been pathetic these last couple years, and the Utes have stomped them every time I've watched them play.

The few times that BYU does win in impressive fashion, their coach crowd-surfs in the locker-room afterwards.

Throw in the likes of TroutBum, CONAN, and Thriller being your most vocal fans, and you have yourself an awesome final result.

Ya I guess I should have said that you are a fan of ute fans. Either way, your posting style when it comes to utes/byu indicates that you have a dog in the fight.... Regardless of whether you actually do or not
