College Football *2015*

I really don't doubt he felt that way, just as I don't doubt you feel the way you feel.

I just wanted to point out that even if true that BYU players have done that and do that it is by no means the exception in college football, let alone Utah. The Ute players do more than their fair share of dirty plays and I have heard from too numerous to count college football players that mention that crazy stuff happens in the piles, with everyone.

My quote there was two fold, either you got the team confused between Utah State and BYU, or it just happened that there was another team known to have punched at Ma'afala's junk. Either way your argument that it's something BYU players have a monopoly is flawed. Also understandable though with your red glasses on.

We all know BYU still matters to Ute fans.

U fan: Your players did something dirty again.
Y fan: We matter! We matter! We matter! You wouldn't be talking about us if we didn't! We matter! See?! WE MATTER!

Fish, not sure what role conferences play in discipline. Obviously, it was Whitt's call to kick Domo off the team, as well as to bring him back. I do think BYU joined a governing body that oversees stuff like that but my best guess is maybe they only get involved when the deem the school isn't punishing players on their own accord?

Also, I wish we could move past this whole idea that insinuating BYU is a dirty team is just Ute Fan driven hyperbole. Hell, even I can admit that Ute fans will probably be the loudest bunch on the subject, but yesterday alone, guys like Danny Kannell and Michael Wilbon took BYU to task on the ESPN airwaves. It's obviously moved beyond rivalry smack talk. But then again, maybe the UofU has illuminati like power and is behind all of this.
Since they have no conference affiliation, BYU is associated with something called CFO West. I have no idea what kind of body it is, but they have the ability/authority to issue suspensions. They came out Monday and said no suspension. But hey, if those ESPN blowhards know better, let's hire them. Oh wait, there's a reason they don't govern college football players.
Like I said before, the nut punch was stupid and my personal opinion is that he should have gotten a suspension.

Good post.
So do teams in conference also do nothing for on field stuff and just let the conference dole out punishments? I honestly don't know how it works
I know in the MWC days the conferences did a lot of the punishments. Not sure how the Pac works. When it comes to unsportsmanlike stuff I'm pretty sure the conferences get involved in the punishments.

It's taken me a few pages, but I think I finally understand the protocol:

Thriller makes an inflammatory comment (generally using 10x as many words as necessary) about U of U.

Ute fan responds with comment about BYU.

Thriller and bigb declare ute fans obsessed with BYU.

Okay, got it.

You should go through this thread (a thread about college football in general) and count how many posts there are by ute fans saying negative things about byu. Remember, this is not a byu thread.
Yet you will find the number of byu related posts by ute fans to be quite high.

Then you should go into the u of u homer thread (a thread specifically about the utes mind you) and count how many negative posts there are by byu fans about university of utah.

You will find that number extremely small.

Draw your own conclusions

I'm a Utah fan. I can't count.

Have you not been paying attention, fish?
