College Football Week 1 Discussion

My only problem with LSU, especially if Jarret Lee is going to start all year, is if they get behind early.

He's clearly not Peyton Manning or Tom Brady.

But with that defense and special teams, they might never get behind more than one score all year.

Barring some weird injuries or something, I think it's obvious that it's going to be between LSU and Alabama for the SEC title. If LSU beats them, they're into the NC game. It's that simple.

@ Mississippi St in a few weeks could be interesting. They might have the offense that could score some points.
The very next week, @ WV. I think LSU will beat them up pretty well.

They host Florida (who meh, don't seem too scary. Especially since it's not in the swamp).

They're @ Tenn, which could be a real interesting matchup.... Tenn had them on the ropes last year...

They'll dump Auburn.

Go on the road for quite possibly the best game of the season in Bama.

Play a bunch of junkers and finish off with Arkansas (could be another great game. At least LSU is at home for this one).

Realistically, I see only 3 teams that have a chance at beating them, Miss St, Bama, and Ark.

The other issue that LSU has going for them? DeMarcus Russel errr Jefferson isn't their QB anymore. He was horrible.. Especially when it came to clock management. And Crowton's weird playcalling are gone.

I think Mississippi State could potentially give them a run for their money. They (MSU) will be just coming off Auburn though, so it won't give them that much preparation/recovery time. I would say MSU has the best QB in the SEC, he is kind of Cam Newton-lite and a good running game.
