College Football Week 2 Discussion

The thing was Arizona didn't even throw any Jake Heaps worthy 96 yard Int's for touchdowns or anything.

400 yards in the air/ 0 INT's/14 points. That just seems wrong.

Arizona's Drives
1st Quarter
9 Plays - 23 Yards (Punt)
3 Plays - 0 Yards (Punt)

2nd Quarter
3 Plays - 4 Yards (Punt)
12 Plays - 75 Yards (Turnover on Downs)
4 Plays - 43 Yards (Fumble)

3rd Quarter
6 Plays - 12 Yards (Punt)
10 Plays - 71 Yards (TD)
3 Plays - - 4 Yards (Punt)
8 Plays - 53 Yards (Turnover on Downs)

4th Quarter
8 Plays - 53 Yards (Turnover on Downs)
6 Plays - 78 Yards (TD)
8 Plays - 34 Yards (End of Game)

3 Turnover on Downs - 1 Fumble

That will do you in!

We're not even 2 full weeks in yet but the Pac12 as a whole looks pretty ****ty right now. However, unlike years past when the MWC looked like hell and Utah, TCU, and that other school were fighting for respect, I could care less how the conference is viewed. The Pac12 could be the worst conference in the nation right now, the winner still gets the Rose Bowl.

As an Aggie fan I too am excited to see how week two plays out. Can Chuckie come out and light up Weber State? How does Auburn fair against a "real" opponent? Lots of questions to be answered today, and of course, I get to spend most of the day at my little brother's wedding (why would anybody get married on a Saturday in football season?).

My match-ups of the week are Mississippi State vs. Auburn. State should be able to end Auburn's win streak fairly easily.

Hold your breath... 14 minutes left and you are down big... "Fairly Easy" apparently doesn't happen unless you are playing Oregon State

Interesting that Cyrone's game of the week ended the same way as it did for his Saints. And with almost the same exact score.

I honestly don't know what's more painful to watch...

Wynn throwing the ball as weak as Barney the kids dinosaur?

or

Brandon Doman Anai's conservative offense? 3rd and 11 and you run a draw????????? No screens this entire game. The Tight Ends have been forgotten since the 1st quarter. Seriously, the playbook appears to consist of 2 plays, I-formation blast with JJ Dilugi taking it. Or, shotgun with two receivers to each side with JJ Dilugi leaking out for a 2 yard gain.

C'mon!!!

Open up the playbook!!! Run some screens! Run a trap! Run some play action! Rub off the defenders and free up the TEs! Run some empty! Throw a slider at them with a formation of 4 receivers to one side. Come on!

Both Utah and BYU need to figure out, the offense was made to score, not to keep from losing.

BYU's offense in the 2nd half has been more conservative than anything I've seen in a long time. HORRIBLE.

Biggest disappointment so far? Doman.

Wasn't he supposed to bring a new dynamic offense to the stagnate Anai offense?

Wasn't Doman the QB genius that knew how to take advantage of Heaps' strong arm?

I literally cannot stand watching either Utah team right now. Wynn's passing is terrible. And BYU's offense ultra conservative. They might as well play with 9 offensive linemen and run the ball every time.

Is there anyway Utah can recruit Utah St's QB? Is there any way BYU could hire Utah St's offensive coordinator?

BYU has to learn to finish drives. To dominate the way they did in the first half and only have 13 points is no bueno. Same thing last week against Ole Miss. Way too many missed opportunities. And yes, take some ****ing risks on offense. Try something different every once in a while.

BYU would be better off with nelson right now at QB running the crap offense that Doman wants to run. These 2-5 yard passes can all be completed by Nelson and he'd add the running aspect to the game.

With heaps, you gotta use him as more of a pocket PASSER. Meaning, keep him in the pocket, let him launch deep balls, use formations to rub off and free up your TEs, throw some screens to keep the defense honest to your passing game, and use play action to sometimes get better angles (and more time) to throw intermediate to deep.

Instead? I'm seeing Robert Anae too scared to let Heaps do anything other than throw to a RB out of the backfield for 2 yard gains.

Turrible just turrible...

Let's just make a new program where purple is the color, and Heaps essentially QB's for Utah.

Honestly...after two weeks the best team in the state is Utah State.

This this and THISSS!

Just imagine how devastating the Utes would be right now with Utah State's QB? That kid looks like a more athletic Brian Johnson.

Just imagine how devastating the Cougs would be if they had Utah State's offensive coordinator? That guy knows how to spread that ball around. Screens, passes downfield, bootlegs, and those nasty "now" passes where they immediately throw the ball out to a WR on the perimeter and let him make a big play. All it would have taken was to get the ball out to Apo, Holt, or Jacobson a few times, a Texas DB miss a tackle, and a big play to happen.

Utah State is solid this year. Their defense is pretty good and that offense is looking awesome. How is their QB just a freshmen? He looks better than and Wynn ever have....

If I was a BYU fan, first I'd probably shoot myself and end it all, but before that I would look at the upcoming schedule of San Jose St, Idaho State, Idaho, and New Mexico State and I'd long for the days of Wyoming and New Mexico.

We can always count on the little brother homers to keep things classy. Nice job
