Collier’s Future

Right now, the issue with Collier is that when the Jazz bring in a dynamic wing or dynamic bigger guard, they'll probably play that player on the ball. So Collier is going to need to expand his game and contribute as an off-ball player as well.

Agreed. I've fixed a lot of things in my past just putting in a lot of repetitions in it. I remember one summer I needed to make my turn around jumper get better. It took hours and hours every week but in the end of summer it had become very much better. And these guys have much better help and more talent.

Don’t see it that way, Collier has elite playmaker written all over him. And he doesn’t dominate the ball like most top lead guards. The dynamic dude whoever will only be enhanced by playing next to Collier plus his 3ball will improve.
 
It would obviously be awesome if Collier started converting his threes at a higher percentage, but I'm just as interested in him adding an effective Nash dribble. He could really keep a blender spinning all on his own with that.

Once Isaiah Jaden Collier comprehends how to propel the sphere into the goal from far away, he shall be replete with point guard acumen. Lo! Forward!

Nope.
But I was always an Anthony Black hater so no surprise there.
Black has slightly better stats right now, and has better size. Collier is a little cheaper and a little younger.
Current stats are a little misleading because Black is in his second year and Collier has been really trending upwards of late.

Will be interesting to compare the two in a couple years.
 
Collier is now at 8.7 assists per 36, which would be 7th in the league ahead of LeBron and he's got his 2pt FG% up to 50%

(He's a rookie so we won't talk about turnovers and 3pt% which would both be bottom of the league if he qualified, but his trajectory and growth is looking great)
 
It's hard to argue against the necessity of having a competent team for young player growth. Hard to see Collier getting this level of confidence if every game he was playing in was a 10+ point blowout loss.
