Collin Sexton traded to Charlotte Hornets for Jusuf Nurkic

I choose to believe this is part two of the secret trade up with Charlotte allowing the Jazz to pick Ace.

I know AA wants his own guys to get minutes but the Nurkic I saw in Phoenix last season was unplayable.

It's unfortunate but Ainge just got himself in a bad situation trying to do a total rebuild with too many vet players on contract.

Considering the result, I wonder what the Jazz could’ve gotten for him in 2022 when they were completely bowing the team up at the deadline?

1. Sexton is a clutch client. Jazz have a pretty good relationship with them. Maybe a favor there. Sexton will get plenty of minutes in a contract year.

2. You could likely flip Nurkic at the deadline for seconds if they are important to you.

3. Only one of our young core is a center. We needed a backup and preferably one on an expiring.

4. We probably SHOULD owe Charlotte even MORE assets for selecting Kon.

All I know is that the Jazz can’t have Sexton, Collins and Clarkson on the roster if they want a top pick in 2026.

I honestly don’t care that much HOW they accomplish this, but I’d prefer they add a couple of okay assets in the process.
Not sure why everyone keeps including Clarkson in these posts- dude’s on/off numbers are not conducive to winning games.
