Welcome to Colton's 2013 Mock Draft Compilation, v. 3.0. I'll probably just do one more of these compilations before the draft.

Here are who the mock drafts are listing as the "best players". See below for details. It should give a pretty good idea of who will be available when the Jazz pick at 14 and 21.

1 Nerlens Noel
2 Ben McLemore
3 Otto Porter
4 Alex Len
5 Victor Oladipo
6 Anthony Bennett
7 Trey Burke
8 C.J. McCollum
9 Michael Carter-Williams
10 Cody Zeller
11 Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
12 Shabazz Muhammad
13 Steven Adams
14 Shane Larkin
15 Dennis Schroeder
16 Kelly Olynyk
17 Giannis Adetokunbo
18 Mason Plumlee
19 Sergey Karasev
20 Gorgui Dieng
21 Lucas Nogueira
22 Rudy Gobert
23 Jamaal Franklin
24 Tony Mitchell
25 Tim Hardaway Jr.
25 Reggie Bullock
27 Allen Crabbe
28 Jeff Withey
29 Ricky Ledo
30 Tony Snell

On the first round bubble: Glen Rice Jr., Livio Jean-Charles, Nate Wolters, Archie Goodwin, Isaiah Canaan

Misc observations:

1. 6/18 drafts have the Jazz picking Schroeder at #14. He's the most commonly listed pick at that spot.

2. At #14, the highest ranked player the Jazz could hope to get is Caldwell-Pope (5/18 mock drafts have him being available).

3. The Jazz might have a very real shot at Muhammad at #14 (9/18 think he'll be available).

4. 3/18 drafts have the Jazz picking Schroeder at #21. He's the most commonly listed pick at that spot. So 9/18 think the Jazz will pick Schroeder with one of their picks.

5. Larkin is about the highest ranked player the Jazz could hope to get at #21 (5/18 drafts have him available)

6. The Jazz might have a very real shot at Adetokunbo at #21 (9/18 think he'll be available).

Ranking details: I used the following mock drafts as "voters" for the best players. That is, I assumed they ranked the players in the order that they felt like the players deserved to be drafted. (This is an incorrect assumption, because some mock drafts account for perceived team need, but it should be close.) Then I used the "instant run-off voting" algorithm in a program I wrote to deduce who deserved to be ranked in the top spot, then in the second spot, then in the third spot, and so forth. See here for details on that algorithm: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting

If there are mocks you'd like me to include next time, please let me know.

A few more misc observations:

7. Len is a huge uncertainty. Mocks have him going anywhere from #1 to #9. Never seen that before.

8. Carter-Williams is also a huge uncertainty. Anywhere from #5 to #14.

9. The five most recently updated mocks all think that Noel will NOT go #1, and only 9/18 drafts think he will go #1. That's a huge shift in the past week. My last compilation had nearly every mock predicting Noel will go #1.

10. If Noel does not go #1, nearly all of the drafts have him slipping to #4.

11. Len is becoming the popular prediction for #1, with 6/18 having him go there, including 4 of the 5 most recently updated mocks.

I'd move down a spot at each pick and grab Schroeder & Gobert.

BPA and fills a need, all rolled into 1 nice foot long Subway wrap.

I'm tellin y'all, the FO has a huge hard on for Withey. Especially Ty because of Jeff's age.

Wow, I would flip those picks. Bigs always rise on draft day. Nogurei or Gobert or both could easily go before Larkin who will be very much available at #21. Wouln't suprise me if Larkin was still on the board at the end of the 1st round.

Colton's got it right Len is the big key to this draft where he goes impacts everything. I see McCollum as the next key and then the Timberwolfs and how much they like C-Pope.

The Wildcards are the foreign bigs. A team falling in love with Gobert, Norguei, or Gianiass could blow everyone's mock to pieces.
