Colton's Mock Draft Compilation, v. 4.0

By the way since most of the intl players are still playing they can not attend the combine, but the Reebok Treviso camp is June 11-13th so hopefully a lot of the lottery hopefuls will be able to show there.

Dude, no one has seen him play enough. Dude was injured most the year. When I did see him I never thought once to myself, "# 1 pick material."

In a decent draft Irving would be a pick after #6, and he and Williams are still the best two this year.
The rest of the picks should be late 1st round, or second round... but are up in the top 10 because the draft stinks this year.

I am very doubtful on Irving because he has not yet played even a full college season. If rookies hit a wall in the NBA.... is Irving going to hit his wall after 20 games? We have no idea what he will do, or what he is capable of, or if he can stay healthy. Too many question marks for a legit #1 pick..... and yet he may get that honor.

This draft stinks and the only thing that will salvage it for me is if we get to pick 1 or 2. I would rather have Williams over Irving... but both are the best choices even if they are both as much a risk as a lock.

I will probably have more to say after the Lottery is pinned down and we know where we are picking... but this draft is still garbage no matter what happens.

The premier superstars in the league didn't play even a full season of college either. In addition to some less-than-superstar players. While I like the rule the NBA implemented, that doesn't mean you can't make the jump, and Irving thrashed opponents in the games he did play in (with exception to some less-than-spectacular moments when he came back and everyone had to adjust).

The quality of a draft really can't be judged until at least two seasons after the draft. Yes, it's devoid of any super stars outside of possibly Irving, but that doesn't make it a bad draft. There are some potential all-stars, some good defenders, and many good starters to be had in this draft.

I really hope you're right. I am very skeptical at the moment.

That is true, and I like Irving's numbers in the few games he played. There are just too many questions marks for me to feel confident.
Even with me not being sure, I would love to give him a shot on the Jazz when we get the #2 pick this year (tongue in cheek).

Yeah, not many apparent superstars in this year's draft. But some decent pieces. The Jazz need a superstar but they'll have to wait and hope for one in the 2012 draft. This year's draft should either be about stocking the shelves with safe, reliable pieces OR gambing on high risk/high reward players.

I understand both options but since I think great players are only found in the draft I'm more inclined toward going the high risk route.

Not all sure about him being a #6 pick in most drafts. He was outstanding before his injury. Being a NC guy saw him play quite a few games before the injury. Believe he has the talent to at least be close to a Chris Paul type player.
