When the New Orleans Hornets were taking fan submissions for a new team nickname, I submitted Stormin’ Mormons, but it sadly didn’t make the cut.

At first I thought the Sixers were skipping Embiid playing in Utah because of the unfavorable matchup with Gobert who is shooting nearly 70% from the floor this season with 2.6 blocks per game. But I looked at the last ten games and Gobert is shooting over 80% from the field, averaging over 16 points per game. That is just crazy.*

If Joe Johnson was playing in the YMCA at 60 years old, I wouldn't give him a clean shot at an NBA 3. We just gave him two wide open shots.

Hayward is a guy I think would fit like a glove with Simmons and Embiid so I would throw a lot of money at him and hope for the best. If he does end up testing the market he will have plenty of options and I'm not quite sure we would even peak his interest.
Hayward is a guy who will fit anywhere. High BBIQ, and can play and guard multiple positions. It will take the max to get him (he'll get that from the Jazz too, most likely). I agree that if he'll choose to test the market, Philly probably won't be high on his list, which is why I don't know why you'd want to give up assets and trade for him for half a season, after which he'd be likely to bolt.
How many wide open corner 3s can you give up in a game?

I mean, you do have to give the Jazz some credit for executing and*getting*that corner three. They are one of the best teams in the NBA.

This has been a blitzkrieg in the 4th.
I'm pretty sure the Jazz could have shot from New Orleans and made most of those. Some of the open corner 3s were defensive breakdowns/good offense, but they hit everything--open, contested, corner, above-the-break. And the Sixers don't usually shoot this poorly from deep. Utah is a good team, but there were a lot of bad breaks tonight.

I am holding a hot object and it hurts!! Maybe if I hold it for 5 more minutes things will improve? ****, this really ****ing hurts!! Gotta stick with the game plan!!

Then the fourth quarter started. Okafor re-entered the game, and the Jazz went on a 19-2 run, totally erasing any chance at a Sixers victory. It’s not all Okafor’s fault, but much of the offense the Jazz were able to create was a result of drives to the basket, Sixers defenders collapsing to help, and the driver making the pass to the open shooter. It’s basic basketball.
4th quarter reminded me of the bear scene in The Revenant
dude Utah is weird. they do that 3rd quarter show then the cheerleaders are wearing layers. I don’t understand the world at all.
I can’t believe that Larry Bird thought that Jeff Teague was better than Hill. That trade makes no sense.
I Blame George Hill for being entirely too good at basketball and being wasted by the Pacers for far too long just putting him in the corner. Hill eviscerated them in pick and roll the whole 4th.
The Jazz are like Warriors level bad for us as a match up. They hammer us every time we play them, it would have taken a miracle.
we just a need a few Durants on the floor. Then Okafor can thrive.
