Conley Benched

I agree with the move. When Mike is off the floor, the Jazz have more size, defense and rebounding. They also don't lose anything in terms of ball movement and shooting. Plus, he's a pretty good backup point guard.

Mike can still get 20-25 mins/night.

I think they did need to test it again after Mike got healthy... if only to sell it to him that the bench role is best for everyone. I think the timing on this is pretty appropriate... even though there was plenty of evidence to justify it earlier.

I'm curious to see the rotation tonight.
They had to try Conley in the starting line-up and 3 game losing streak(was it 2?) was good enough of a time to plug him in.

Zactly.

Its a great time to do it... but also might be a tough time to do it because national tv game and according to Locke this is like the worst matchup possible for us right now. Hope like hell we play well and Mike has a solid game off the bench.

When Mike came off the bench his FG% was much better... even though his 3P% was really low... the 3P% should be fairly stable... so maybe it will help his overall shooting and he can just do what he does more. If the offense stagnates in a possession he's out there with Jordan ****ing Clarkson and you can just throw it his way and let him get a bucket. Like this makes sense to me... Mike has to swallow some pride... maybe he digs deep and finds the dude we thought we were trading for. Even if he just plays solidly (like he has recently) and the starting group plays well, we should be in a pretty good place.

I think Rudy might really come to play tonight... National TV... some shams video about being DPOY again... I don’t think we get a passive Rudy tonight... oh yeah and his old buddies back in town.

I'm shocked. This is the right move but I never thought Quin would actually do it. Lot of pressure of Royce and Joe now to step up and start playing like they were when we went on that great run and won 19 of 21 games. Obviously everyone needs to play better though, including Rudy and Donovan.
