The “cost of eggs” started as a way of mocking Trump supporters and within just a few days has now become one of the lefts main criticisms and concerns. They are literally the dumbest people on earth.
You’re mistaken. It’s not at all that the “cost of eggs” is a main criticism and concern. (I am bummed that I won’t be making my famous homemade brownies as often). No, we’re just busting Trump’s balls for saying this: “When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on Day One”. I remember this presser where he posed with all the groceries, etc:
“In August 2024, then-candidate former President Donald Trump delivered a press conference surrounded by packaged foods, meats, produce, condiments, milk and eggs.
“When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on Day One,”
he said at the time.
It was a pledge he repeated on the campaign trail, often followed by the phrase, “drill, baby, drill.” And to many voters, inflation was a justifiable target: Years of sharply rising prices had taken a toll on their hard-earned pay and their livelihoods.
But Day One has turned into Day Seven, and those
eggs are getting even more expensive.
Despite a flurry of executive actions, Trump’s price-related promises have gone unfulfilled, Democratic lawmakers
wrote in a letter addressed to the president.
“You have instead focused on mass deportations and pardoning January 6 attackers, including those who assaulted Capitol police officers,” according to the letter signed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren and 20 congressional Democrats. “Your sole action on costs was an executive order that contained only the barest mention of food prices, and not a single specific policy to reduce them.”
In fact, the lawmakers added, Trump appears to be “backtracking” on those promises, conceding in recent weeks that it’s “hard to bring things down.”
On Sunday, Vice President JD Vance made a
similar comment to CBS’s Margaret Brennanwhen asked about grocery prices.
“Prices are going to come down, but it’s going to take a little bit of time,” he said, adding that the way to lower prices is “to encourage more capital investment into our country.”

Trump shoots his mouth off all the time. End the war in Ukraine in one day. Start bringing prices down on “day one”. What do you expect? The least we can do is remind him of his own campaign promises and bust his nuts abut his constant flow of BS and ego inflation. Sure, eggs are the poster child for rising prices at the moment. And the bird flu will continue that rise in price. But you read it wrong. It’s not that it’s only about eggs now. He’s the one making all the “in one day, on day one” promises”. If he doesn’t want to hear it about eggs, he should think before opening his trap.
President-elect Donald Trump says Americans not being able to afford groceries will be a relic of the past. “They’re going to be affording their groceries very soon,” he said Thursday before ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, where he was
honored as Time’s “Person of the Year.”
“When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on day one,” Trump continued. “We will drill, baby, drill,” he said, referring to increasing domestic oil production. “That’s going to bring down prices of everything.”
