Dont get your panties in a bunch. The fact that politics in Chicago are corrupt hasn't been news since the 1920s. And you gotta keep in mind we get all of the bad news everywhere in the world reported instantly and repeated ad nauseum. Yeah it's absolutely a problem that has to be dealt with but it isn't any chicken little scenario.
I know.
I just get tired of racism being thrown around like it's only white people and its all white. I know OB and HH probably don't believe that but it sure comes off that way. Which to me is just a racist as any other racism. It doesn't make any sense to be supposedly fighting against racism, but then just come off as racist doing it.
There are so many good white people out there that want this nonsense to go away just as bad as all the other races.
Most people are good people and aren't racist. It's a small percentage of the population, and comes from every race out there. It just happens to be that people of white skin are more abundant and are in more positions of power, with more money. That stems from a lot of things. One of them is because of discrimination that does really exist, and I acknowledge that. But it mostly because regardless of what's happened in the past and how far we come, no one is just going to just start handing over their businesses, their money, their property, their jobs, etc.. You still have to earn it. White people don't just give other white people money and opportunity just because they are white. They do because they have a business to run and they want to choose the best candidate who has the best talents and who can represent their company in a positive light.
It's a very sad thing and a vicious cycle, but if you are poor, not educated, and you don't act professional then people don't want you working for them. This just happens to be a lot of the black community. But it's still a lot of the white community too. If I own a business and I get two applications and one guy is black man and comes in with a suit and tie and sounds smart, has a good background and so forth, and the other guy is a white guy who dresses like a thug, can't speak English right, sounds like a punk ***, has tattoos on his face and neck, and his job experience and education suck. I'm hiring the black guy every time. You would be stupid not to.
Like I said, it's vicious cycle. You grow up poor, there is a good chance you just turn into a tool with a bad attitude. Ya, white people of the past did cause a lot of this problem, but I don't what someone is supposed to do about just because they are white. It's doesn't seem fair, but ultimately the responsibility is on each individual to turn them into the most valuable person they can become. It isn't my responsibility to take care of someone because they want to pout and blame everyone else for their problems. I grew up as poor as it comes in this country. I've done it all from being on welfare and moving every school year. It was harder than crap to find a way out of it. But it didn't come to me because it was given to me. I earned every ounce of it. It drives me insane for someone to tell me it's only because I'm a privileged white person and it had nothing to do with grinding everyday until worked.
The market place will pay for talent. Plain and simple. If you can make someone some money then they will pay you for it. Should white people start crying racism because most the jobs in sports are given to black people? Where's the huge outcry of racism there, other than the notion it's slavery of some sort? I would love to have one of those jobs. I'll trade the black man my cushy(sarcasm) office job, for his job playing sports and making millions everyday of the week. I'm sure people will scoff at that statement and say that's stupid because only a few rare people get to do that. Well duh, not every white man is rich and has a great job, or owns a business. It's a few rare people. If you want to own a business, stop spending all your time shooting hoops. Bury your head in the books like everyone else has that owns a business and learn how to do it.
This translate to how you are treated by cops too. Ya, there are some racists white cops, and they target minority groups. But I would be willing to bet that they target certain looking white people too. If you look dangerous or suspicious then you'll peak the cops curiosity. If you are mouthy, don't do what the cops says, and make stupid movements, then that's ultimately what gets you. If there is two scenarios where one guy is an older looking black man in a newer car who is with family and is courteous during his traffic stop then I'm less suspicious of him than I am of the young white kid driving his junker, has meth teeth, got a thugish look to him, is combative and so forth. I think what more than anything goes into profiling is image and has less to do with race. Again, I know that their are some dick head racists white pigs, but for the most part, cops are judging the things by the image, the situation, and vibe being put off. I think most people think this in everyday life too. Just like how Mark Cuban explained how he knows he's got some prejudices in him. It's just normal thinking.
So if want to be treated better in society, no matter what color you are, be careful what image you are putting off. If Thug life is important to you and you want to look and act like that, then expect to be rejected by society.
We all go through some sort of abuse by cops at some point or another, some worse than others. Just make the best of the situation by not trying to stand up to the cop to prove he isn't in charge of you. It's never going to do you any good. You can't win.
In the case of Michael Brown, which is what got me in these threads. I looked at what evidence is available. I know it's hard to trust eye witness accounts. All I needed to see was that he just robbed a store, not for food, but for drug paraphernalia. He threatened violence. That's enough for to think that he probably had it coming. And I don't really care what color he was. He was a punk *** and not good for society. It's an isolated incident with its own story, and should be treated as such. It's not big conspiracy against black people.
