Corbin losing the team?

*-----------------========== Told you that KOC would hold on to players like raja til he explodes. What a great environment for our young players we have selfish players, complainers, and players going awol. And all you can do is beg for a new head coach. It is the deck that he is stacked against him. KOC has giving him a mix of selfish vets with youth that needs time to develop. Now you are saying that it is his fault that RAja is mad yet you are the same person that says Raja needs to sit so Burks can play. LOL KOC is the coolist.

The anti-Corbin tirades on this site have gone beyond stupid. Everything the guy does is wrong.
Yea, pretty much. It's not even a debate anymore. When 99% of posters are all in agreement about illogical rotations, lack of PT, etc., you have to think something is amiss. We're not experts, but I'd like to think most of us, just by virtue of being on a basketball/Jazz board, probably are pretty representative of the feelings of the average fans in the stands. If so, the natives are VERY restless. It woiuld behoove Mr. Miller and Mr. O'Connor to take note before attendance and season ticket sales start to drop.

Can't imagine it would be Bell requesting the meeting, nor Corbin. Would have to be KOC hearing rumblings and demanding a meeting. Bell wouldn't call it because, as a vet, Bell would know the GM has to always support the coach (until he's decided to be fired .. can't allow the inmates to run the assylum). Corbin wouldn't call it because he would be telling the GM, that as the HC, he can't do his job. Therefore, there must be some fairly serious issues if it's getting back to KOC and he feels he has to intervene .. that action shows the team he's not confident Ty can handle it alone.

Reaching? Maybe .. but that's how I read it.

My intial thought was -PKM is reaching. So I tried to recall other times that coach, player, agent & GM meet together. There was the famous Jerry, AK and KOC meeting, where after 7 years together they decided that AK couldn't understand Jerry because of a language barrier. And I think there might have been an Arryo meeting before he was traded away. So maybe it doesn't happen that often.

And the only recent instance that comes to mind was Big Al going off on the media last spring then storming out of the post game interviews. Jazz had Al and his agent in for a meeting within hours to discuss the issue. I don't think Coach Corbin was involved.

But still it might be a reach to say this demonstrates Ty's inability to manage the team, we need more details about the confrontation and the resolution before I'm willing to commit.

Wait, are you saying the average fan is the average armchair coach with an obsession of posting less than average intelligence on a message board?

You dip****s would go Charlotte on the stadium if Ty and KOC gave you what you ask for.

Wrong. The offense with The Four and Harris or Watson is proven stagnant brackish water. I want MOAR to tank this ****er and improve the draft pick.

That ain't on Ty. He has to play the veterans or the team loses.

I'm glad we're finding some differences.

I want the team to win. Now and always. And, I finally feel as though I have the data to make a case against Ty; he's not maximizing what he has, and he's not consistent with the small number of things (too few!) he's trying to implement.

It's really that simple. We're not getting better. On-the-floor chemistry is obviously bad. He hasn't once catered to the limited and developing skillsets of the youth. Bloody basic stuff, IMO.

EDIT TO ADD: are you saying that the stagnant offense of the youth has nothing to do with Ty? That's an ungenerous reading of what you said, but it's still possible to see your post in that way. I'm automatically giving you more credit than that, because saying such a thing is pretty ridiculous. Coaching is at the heart of that.

Fair enough to blame some on the coach. It's a professional league, however, and 98% of the winning comes from the players. The coach might be the guy who puts it into championship mode but it is always the players winning the games.

How did that Dallas team actually win last year? Spoelstra wasn't the one choking on pride and arrogance. I also thought Thibodeau was Thee Genius. Did he win last season? Or was it Lebron who shut down Premie MVP? Did the coach who "never underachieves" win with prime Shaq and Kobe, two defensive stud HOFers, and a more than adequate supporting cast?

Talent is everything in this league. If these guys can't run the offense then they just aren't talented enough to do so.

We have enough talent to run AN OFFENSE. Is it the one-dimensional, inside-out post offense that we've been watching all season? It doesn't look like it. So, someone with power should think about changing things a little bit.

Have you noticed how Earl looks off Favors in the post, even when he's calling for the ball, and chooses instead to pound the ball into the paint willy-nilly or give the ball up to CJ? All Ty needs to do is tell Earl to feed Derrick in the post, and if he doesn't, bench his ***. He apparently is doing neither, even though the bench continues to stick with terrible offense in the halfcourt, and Favors has shown that when he gets consistent touches he produces.

ugh.

I don't know if this train wreck is Corbin's fault or Greg Miller's. If Greg has told Corbin that his job is to make the playoffs or find another job, then all of this crap makes perfect sense. If Greg has not said those words to Corbin, then Corbin is an idiot.

So coaches matter not at all? Fire them all, put the towel boy on the bench to handles substitutions. I wonder why anyone pays them millions of dollars? And it is pure coincidence that some coaches have numerous rings while most have none. Lets ask Phil and Pops and Red to give back their paychecks.

Of course the players have to be the ones to execute what the coach has put in place. But if the coach cannot get professional athletes to do things that they learned in 8th grade, like set screens, box out, and defend the lane, then that coach has failed. Either that or he has a team composed completely of brain-dead or incooperative players.
