i think id trade #23 for Cory Joseph, what say you??

Joseph helps the jazz much more than Elfrid Payton next year tbh, (and i like Payton) hes got years of playoff experience at only 22. he will need a new contract after next year, but i dont think he's going to be asking for anything too crazy.

hes 6'3¼ 186lbs and athletic enough to posterize Ibaka. also his hands are almost 2" longer than Rajon Rondo's

he comes with 3 years of Popovich tutelage, and im sure D. Linds knows everything about him

San Antonio definitely trusts his defense against bigger wing players.

Joseph's not the greatest 3pt shooter, 32% last year. hes shown improvement in that area though, and other than shooting from 3 i dont think theres much to nitpick. very good ast/to ratio, hes also a plus rebounder, and VERY reliable from the line, 85%

the player most responsible for knocking off Kyrie Irving's and MKG's #1 St. Patricks squad back in HS, was Cory Joseph, i always remember that game;

he made this amazing play with 11 seconds to go, they were up 2 and he had 1 free throw to go, missed it short, but goes for the rebound amongst the bigs, knocks the ball in the air, makes a quick second jump diving out of bounds and deflects the ball off of a St. Patricks bigman

I wonder what Vermin thinks of this idea, he knows a good bit about Findlay Prep players

He is a decent young player who could certainly crack our rotation from the bench, but the I'd personally take a swing at the #23 spot in this draft who might not pan out but would have more potential.

A 1st rounder is a bit of a stretch for CJ. Maybe the #35 or a future 2nd rounder would be enough to get him away from SA.

i agree with alot of this, im on the fence TBH. I'm on record saying i think someone unexpected falls in the Jazz laps, and still feel that way. ( i do prefer Joseph over the potential PG's picked at 23 though)

however

if we were to trade #23, i dont really want a 'vet' persay, id rather go after like a 22-24 year old whos played a few years and still shows flashes, for as much as Lindsey has publicized the 'were looking to trade for vets, im kind of expecting it to be that type of player

theres just a multitude of reasons i cant dismiss this trade though,

Cory Josephs PG skills are way better than Marcus Smart... His defense is damn good too, he plays big... other than a 1st option or defensive stopper at SF, i think posters around here have been calling for this type of PG more than any other

at #23 we have chance to get an athletic wing like GrobIII.

we need athletes who can improve our defense.

8 points 4 rebounds 4 assists 2 blocks and 2 steals in 16 minutes in this playoff game
