Is it possible that when we look back on this injury-laden time(including last year) that we find that the adversity made us stronger? Taking into account our current situation and even last years injuries hasn't it forced everyone to step up their games and given important minutes to guys like Lyles, Withey, Hood, Gobert, Mack, Neto, Jingles, Exum, etc.? Isn't the end-game of winning a title a ways off anyways and could this chance for bench players to get extra time on the court with the extra pressure of carrying the team pay dividends down the line... or is it all negative?
"adversity made us stronger?" No, we still collapsed late in games and missed the playoffs because of it.
"hasn't it forced everyone to step up their games?" To what purpose? We still lost.
The only player to gain anything from Gobert and Favors missing so much time last year is Withey, who made the cut this year because of what he showed us last year, but he is still the 15th man on the roster. On the other hand, CJ showed again and again that he couldn't make the corner 3, which is why his hustle during preseason wasn't enough to make the team.
