What's new

Could we have won a ring or two in the 80s if we kept Dominique?

Having Wilkins changes our draft pick position in all likely hood. We may never get Stockton or Malone.

Very likely, but Wilkins playing with a bunch of scribe I think at least nets us Stockton. Malone might've slipped to the bottom 20s where we would've nabbed him. We'll never know. But having Nique would've definitely rewrote history books.

Well yeah, if we could have had all 3 of those guys, and kept them, yeah we would have won Chips. I just don't see how we could even keep that trio together though.

Stock didn't even start his rookie year. I'm not sure we would have been a lot better with Dantley stopping the ball and taking it out of Wilkins hands. Wilkins would have been devastating with Stock passing him the rock.

Probably most definitely 2 chompionchips for the Las Vegas Jazz/Outlaws. Because the Jazz sold the pick for money in order to keep the team in Utah. And in your scenario they have to move and we never experience any joy of creaming our jeans to prodigy's videos. So take your pick I guess. I take gobert/favors constant pantstents than being essentially a Houston Rockets fan trading on bygone days.

Chips would have been had. The Jazz answer at SF early on was Ty Corbin and freaking Kelly Tripucka.

Hey, we could have had Magic Johnson, too. Didn't the Jazz trade that pick which eventually became the #1 choice in 1979?

Would have been insane to have the two best PG's in the history of the game. Magic could have slid over to SG.

Here is something to chew on. Imagine if Malone didnt slide to us(what was it 13?), and Stock to Malone didnt exist. Would we still be in Utah?

Fate has helped us more than hurt us.

Just to ruin things for jackazzprinze a bit more, if we didn't sell the Nique pick for cash, the Jazz would be somewhere else even before factoring Stock and Malone into it. I'm pretty sure I remember the cash from that transaction keeping the Jazz going. It was a need to trade the pick, not the fact that they didn't want a high pick.

Ok gays. Way to ruin a good thread being a bunch of jackazzes. Jackazzfanz.

If you want to put everything into a vacuum, then yeah, sure, that would have been so fun to watch Nique flying all over the place and Malone ****in freight training the league with stockton running the show. Especially with Frank Layden clowining the rest of the other head coaches. Very fun indeed. But what can I say? Hypothetical threads gonna hypothet.

I say, why stop there? Jazz had the rights to Moses Malone too.

Keep Moses, Magic and Dominique. Then draft Stockton and Malone. Dynasty!

Mark Eaton/Moses Malone, Karl Malone, Magic Johnson(point forward), Dominique Wilkins and John Stockton. That's a big, and talented team. If only the Jazz brass could have predicted the future and NEVER traded for Gail Goodrich.

In all seriousness, Dominique would have been amazing teamed up with Stockton and Malone.

Think about this guys. What if we'd snagged Gordon Hayward then made a trade to get Derrick Favors. Now, imagine if we had somehow drafted Alec Burks, Rudy Gobert and Rodney Hood with later first round picks (I know it's unlikely that all three of these guys slide, but bear with me). What if we somehow added a quality point guard to that mix and also snagged a great development coach. Just think about how epic that could be.
