Cousins demands a trade!

Some of the comments in this thread remind me of Jazzfanz comments on both Howard and Tinsley.

Those guys, BTW, are both on the team now, and don't have the potential bigtime payoff that Cousins has. Let alone if you consider dumping Al's contract at the same time.

This is the first deal I've seen where I think KOC would have to seriously consider giving up the GS pick to get it done.

Slight difference is Howard and Tinsley are 2 washed up vets on their last chance in getting back in the NBA - they better be on their best behavior or no GM will ever answer their calls again.

Only a slight difference tho.

I am not on board for that at all. I would throw in a future first round pick, but not the GS pick.

Here's my hypothetical:

Jefferson and Harris and a pick perhaps for Cousins and Jimmer
Miles and trade exception to get Hinrich
Cousins and Bell for somebody else
Then this summer you throw every single penny you have at Gregg Popovich.

You then have addition by subtraction (Jefferson, Bell, Miles) an upgrade, in my opinion, at PG (Hinrich and Jimmer over Harris) and whatever prospect Cousins gets you. Plus Popovich.

Right. Never gamble on a player who might payoff big. Only gamble on washed up vets who will have minimal positive impact. Makes sense.

And fire Ty? How could you?

I don't think gambling fits well with either the Jazz org. or the fan base.

Now the Kings.. may be..

BTW don't think 1 year contracts on washed up vets = gamble.

No Cousins. Dont need him negatively effecting our other young players. Have Kanter and Favors. If we get another young big I want one who can play away from the basket.

If we had a stable team I would be all for this. Too have so many young players on one team is a weird thing, and probably hasn't been done in the NBA for a long time. Cousins seems like a guy who desperately needs structure and stability to suceed. I would in no way be upset if we traded for him, but it could ugly fast if we get him. Then we have another two incoming lottery picks. Obviously some people would be packaged for at least 1 veteran all-star before the start of next year. I still feel like it would be doing too much stuff in too short of a time period for it all to work out the way we would want it too.
