Crazy trade Idea

Chargers Jazz Angels

This is a trade i came up with while i was slipping off to sleep. It is a bold move on both teams parts. It is a trade with New Orleans. The team is hurting needs to rebuild. The way to rebuild is to gather draft picks and get young talent. This is the trade

Jazz trade Okur, Hayward and a future 1st

New Orleans trades Emeka Okafor

NO saves a ton of money when they dump Okur 2 years earlier. They get a good young player to replace Pedja and a future asset in a first rounder. Econamicaly it is not as great at first but if you figure that NO then trades CP3 to NY for Gallinari and Toney Douglas and some more draft picks. They would be developing a very young and talented team.

The Jazz then slide Jefferson to the 4 Okafor to the 5 and have Millsap at the 6th man. He would still be getting about 30 min a night. Bring back Fes and the Jazz are as talent on the starting 5 as most other teams.

I wouldn't make the trade straight up for Okur. Okafor is just way too much money for the production he gives you. He would clog up the box for Jefferson, doesn't get enough blocks or rebounds down low to justify the tremendous loss of firepower you have given up to get him, and basically locks the team into the current roster minus Kirilenko who you would then need to give away for nothing at that point.

If we are going to get a lumbering dinosaur, they can be had at a better value. Okafor only averaged a half a block more a game than Okur last season.

Man, what did you have to drink (or inject) before bed?
You'd give all of that up (Okur, a lottery pick and a future 1st) for a guy who averages 13/10 with a couple of blocks? Not only no...Hell NO!!!
Okafor is 6'10" - not some monster 7'0" we'd be bringing in to match the height of Gasol or Bynum. I'd much rather play Jefferson in the low block and have Millsap or Okur to play mid-range (and in Okur's case, behind the 3).

And giving up our #9 pick is ludicrous. Hayward is going to be a solid starter or a great 6th man. He could very well be the best all-around wing player from the draft.

I'd give up Okur for just the lottery pick. Hell, I'd give a lottery pick for someone to take him.

No offense, but quite possibly the worst trade idea I've heard on this board. NO would do this trade in a heartbeat.

Atleast you admit it's crazy. There's a reason the Hornets are insisting Okafor be included in any Darren Collison deal. They're desperate to dump him, and they realize the only way that could happen is to package him with their most attractive asset not named "Chris Paul."

So if you break this down Hube Brown-style, Now, when you look at what you've done, not only are you swapping a center who can stretch the floor for you with 2 yrs $20 million left on his contract for a 6-10 guy who can shoot the high percentage in the paint but not outside 15-feet and has 4 years $52 million left, but you're also giving up your top-10 draft pick plus a future #1 after you already traded your 2011 pick. Now thaat, is difficult to do.
