Meh. I'd probably suspend Smart for this week(so probably 2 games, too lazy to look up their schedule) and then I think Tech should tell super fan to stay home for the next home game. Nothing more.

Would not be one bit surprised to see something racist or offensive thrown out there. Pro and amateur athletes take a daily heckling from fans who would never say something to their face mano y mano. I'm frankly surprised more doesn't happen more often.
I have an olive complexion and only made it as far as playing high school basketball. On road games, I'd have both students and parents calling me names repeatedly. They'd confuse me with being Spanish because they are clueless idiots (mom is from India). This forum will block most of what they would call me, but every single Mexican racial insult you can imagine was thrown at me. Never went after one, but I would literally hope those people would die on their car ride home.

This should happen more often. Fans are so out of control lately. I'd love for more of these drunken idiots to be pounded into dust. Fine, want to make fun of a guy's game? Cool. But You talk **** about a guy's family? Or say anything racial? You deserve everything you get.
I think concerns over his jumper will hurt his draft stock more than this isolated incident.
Personally, I just don't see how he would help the Jazz. Don't we already have a SG who gets to the rim with ease but struggles to shoot from the outside?

I agree with this. However, since I'm giving Smart the benefit of the doubt, how about we give the fan a little bit too? He has openly admitted to being a jerk and apologized, which is pretty rare imo, considering this is just a guy -- not some superstar athlete who has a commissioner and agent forcing him to read some public BS apology at a press conference.
So, a little credit to the old hick, I think. Also, take into consideration that this guy Orr isn't just a casual fan. He's the equivalent to our Rubber Chicken Dr., and gosh, wouldn't it be great to have a bunch of super fans like him? This guy has been passionate about his team winning and losing since before Smart was born.

Still, no excuse to say something offensive, and Smart has no excuse for going at the fan. In the end though, both of these guys deserve props over punishment, imo.

Quality over quantity. As much I as I like your opinions (SOMETIMES), you often go off into ****ty takes and ****ty opinions. In fact, didn't you make a thread specifically talking about your ummm, output, in the bathroom. I wouldn't say that was of any real value to the board.
