All of these situations are the same in regards to fans going banana's and shouting/yelling/cursing at college players -- because in college ball, NBA ball, ward ball, pocket ball -- it doesn't matter, people get excited and heated about their teams. Also, were you at the game? Did you hear and/or see all of the stuff that went on at that game? What led to Smart being stupid? Oh, you didn't? So you have absolutely ZERO idea if he did anything to antagonize the audience?

Reportedly, the booster called Marcus a piece of crap. Whether he used "crap" or "****," it was wrong on his part. Smart's team is losing, there's pressure on him as the top player, and he gets abused by some middle-aged "super fan" in the stands. Yes, I can see him losing his cool. Not right to shove the guy, but not something that I think is going to affect his draft status.

He had a pretty troubled childhood. He spent a good amount of time in anger management during high school.....It's sad to see him take a step backwards like this, but I'm sure he'll respond well.

Lol. It is more that he is lying about the racial slur to incite the race card sympathy that is so prevalent these days that bothers me. Yeah it was foolish to push the guy, but the audio from his own people (OSU) shows the guy called him a piece of crap and that is it. That is wrong to say that and no excuse, but then Smart lies and uses the race card to make what he did ok. Its getting old. That shows a seriously bad character flaw to me.

From what I've been hearing, it sounds like the booster had been hounding him all game and as Smart fell out of bounds the "piece of crap" comment was just the final straw. The "piece of crap" comment is on video, but the other is just going to be hearsay and may or may not have included the racial slurs. Some people say he did and some say he didn't so there is no real proof either way. Irregardless (in case Pat Kinahan is reading this post), you need to act accordingly for your job and at this point collage basketball is his job.
