For at lower pay scales, yeah. I feel like Deron might "know his role" better.

I don't agree with everything this guy says about AK, namely his leadership abilities as he was never a strong vocal leader, but I do think he would add a lot to the team and I would not mind at all seeing him retire in a Jazz jersey. Don't forget as a third year player, he was the star on a hapless and hopeless Jazz roster that finished with a 42-40 record. It would be a miracle if this team could get to an even 40-42 record. That roster was way less talented than this one and now AK can be that vet off the bench. Plus, AK's season in Russia and even his season in Minnesota showed that he can still contribute especially on defense.
I'm glad the young players are running this team, but I fear that a team with zero veterans might learn some bad habits and have no leadership, turning the Jazz into the Kings or the Timberwolves. That 42-40 team had a few guys with 5 years, Ostertag with 8, and Gugliotta with 11. I think that made a big difference in the development of guys like AK and Mo Williams.

We don't need guys like AK teaching our young players. Guys like Kevin Ollie, Nick Collison, overachievers who know how to both lead by example and vocally are what we need. AK does neither.
