Dalembert traded to Sacramento...One more big man available in the draft?

Does this change the Jazz's thinking? This means one more big will be avalible at 9. Do they still try to move up for Cousins/Monroe?

They better not be moving up just for Monroe anyway. But other than that I don't think it makes a difference in what Sac is going to do draft wise. Dalembert is in the last year of his deal and Sac needs another big man anyway. Thompson is the only big they have left once Dalembert's contract expires.

They traded Hawes. More likely it means they want one of the big men in the draft who will share time with Dalembert for a year. They don't want Dalembert, either, but they don't want Nocioni's 3 years more.

From what I read on ESPN, the Kings have been high on Dalembert this entire season. Not sure if that means they have long term plans for him, but it doesn't sound like they would make the trade for him if they didn't like him.

I stand corrected. I guess they do want Dalembert more than just to unload Nocioni. I guess that's why they're the Kings.

If the Kings just like Dalembert that much, Cousins will go 6th. The Jazz should work out something with GSW to get #6 for AK and #9 (maybe involving Memphis?). I can't seem to figure anything out because free agency and all subsequent matters (like opting in) are AFTER the draft which is retarded.

This feels like a set-up for something else. Kings are trying to build excitement to gain support for a new tax funded arena, they've said they want young players around Tyreke Evans. Dalembert doesn't get people excited nor is he young. Kings were very active at the trade deadline, and now they have a big expiring contract this year. Don't be suprised if Dalembert is moved on draft night or at the trade deadline. Of course non of this really matters since this thread is in the Jazz section and we know the jazz will just watch it all and hope that they grow from within.

Somebody here had suggested AK+9 for Maggette+6 and that could work on draft day (or now like the Dalembert deal?). If Cousins falls to 6, that would be ideal.

Maggette has 3 years left and GS could agree to going down a few spots to get AK and his expiring deal in return. GS will have to send another contract, probably expiring. Maggette could take up the scoring slack if/when Boozer leaves and we have to start Millsap.

Those as the centerpieces are fine, but the salaries don't match. Adding Radmanovic (expiring) makes salaries work, but he has a player option. While he will assuredly opt-in, it will be on June 30th (after the draft) and a player in such a situation can not be moved unless it's known whether they opt in or not.

That's a pretty tough pill to swallow to move up 3 spots. Finally getting rid of your albatross of a contract to take another one on for 3 years. Yikes. However if Cousins does fall that far it might be worth it.

As far as Maggette taking over for Boozer's scoring. Yea right. How long have you watched the Jazz? Because they are not going to just give Maggette the ball and turn him loose like GS has done. And he is not going to put up those #'s as the SG/SF for the Jazz.

I still think Sacramento takes Cousins. Play behind Dalembert his first year, then start after that. Lets Thompson play his more natural PF.
