Trading up 3 spots in this situation is trading into an entire different tier of talent. This isn't going from #29 to #26, Cousins in the right situation could realistically be the best player of this draft. Or a hell of an asset for something else. That's a pretty tough pill to swallow to move up 3 spots. Finally getting rid of your albatross of a contract to take another one on for 3 years. Yikes. However if Cousins does fall that far it might be worth it.
As far as Maggette taking over for Boozer's scoring. Yea right. How long have you watched the Jazz? Because they are not going to just give Maggette the ball and turn him loose like GS has done. And he is not going to put up those #'s as the SG/SF for the Jazz.
And Maggette's not that bad. The hate people have for him stuns me. Would I have signed him to that deal? No, but there are many, many, many worse poison pills in the league (like Memo, for example). In fact, if the Warriors are desperate to dump Maggette, I'd trade Memo for him straight up.
Of course, if Sacramento drafts Cousins, then the Jazz did all of that for nothing. The Kings are probably that retarded, though.
