Actually...Anthony Davis will be pissed being traded also James and doncic play the same position very weird trade
...within an hour of the trade announcement, Bobby Marks had confirmed that AD had waived his trade kicker, which they still could have done the trade. So, AD got a $6 million bonus for being traded. He waived it. That would have been paid by the Lakers but would have gone on the Mavericks’ books... That keeps the Mavericks out of the luxury tax… So, it helps the Mavericks going forward here, potentially even doing something buyout-wise at the deadline here
Honestly, the freebies we got is either some cash considerations (which still is a GM job, so okay I guess) or the new Ante Tomic and a guard that been a complete bust so far. Honestly, I believe that a "It's better Luka ends up in the Lakers than along Wemby or Shai with 10+ frp in the same conference we're rebuilding for" is the only reasoning I can come up with to not opt with to "lets help such a heist"The reasoning was " Luka is going to the Lakers whether we get involved or not so might as well get some free ****" probably
I've heard a nominal amount of cash <$100k. I think this is necessary due to the "can't trade something for nothing" NBA trade rules.Cap space / roster spot.
This trade was simply an example of the jazz helping out the jazz.

The options wereHah! It's more like a farm team catering to the Fakers to make the NBA and Adam Silvers happy. Maybe the Fraudzz are simply too scared to fall out of the top 3 in the draft, so they did this to stay on the good side of the commissioner as well.
This trade was simply a lopsided trade. The league and commissioner doing everything they can to make the Fakers relevant, even after LeQueen retires.
Acting like the deal doesnt go down if we dont grab the freebies is naive. Also assuming DA even knew who was being traded is very questionnable.Honestly, the freebies we got is either some cash considerations (which still is a GM job, so okay I guess) or the new Ante Tomic and a guard that been a complete bust so far. 12.3+1% over a million for mental health vs 0% in Texas. A key reason I left CA.So luka is now just eligible for $229 mil extension instead of $345 mil supermax in dallas. How much tax in California?
