Blazers out: Damian Lillard, Josh Hart
Blazers in: Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gay, Rodney Hood

Clippers out: Marcus Morris, Rodney Hood
Clippers in: Mike Conley

This trade works under the cap. Picks could be included. All three teams have motive to do it.

We avoid having to tank and have a real shot at contending next year.

Might be the best trade idea we've seen yet. Definitely a win-now move for us and a future move for Portland, which fits their timeline well. Not sure if this is a clear-cut winner for the clippers but they could see it as a move to add some veteran leadership. I could get behind this trade. Frankly dame is who we hope Mitchell becomes so why not get the real thing now?

ETA: looks like an almost dollar-for-dollar wash. Would be a huge win to sneak Udoka or NAW into that deal. Maybe ironically do so by including Ingles as a sign-and-trade, just for giggles.

Portland has enough room in this deal to take Udoka and NAW both. Hell, they have enough room in this deal to take Royce AND one of Udoka/NAW.

I’d do it but I’d be terrified of the Dame contract extension… his last year you can write off as injuries but it was rough… if it was age regression then it gets ugly.
