What's new

Damian Lillard is the answer to our problem

I’d do it but I’d be terrified of the Dame contract extension… his last year you can write off as injuries but it was rough… if it was age regression then it gets ugly.

@infection will sign off on any trade that gets us Marcus Morris.
I’d build on this. Trade Quin to LAL for an asset and then go try to get Smart.

Could be a Win win. My favorite player to watch goes to the city I live in, and my 2nd fav goes to the team I root for.

If it doesn’t work - especially if Dame is really on the decline now - this is the most catastrophic route imaginable. Then a looong, painful rebuild becomes an absolute inevitability.

And I don’t think it fundamentally changes the Jazz’s fortunes for one or two seasons.

Nah.

Just a season ago DM averaged 32ppg on 45% shooting in the playoffs and in 2020 he averaged 36ppg on 52% shooting. Including one game which he dropped 57, 3rd most points ever scored by a player in a playoff game. Yet the Jazz still lost the series.

Could Dame have possibly given us more than Donovan in those games to push us to the top?

Of course Donovan has his shortcomings but it's not like Dame is exactly strong in areas where DM's been lacking.

How's about Donovan Mitchell for Dort, 5 x first round picks, and whatever expiring contracts we need to make it work.

OKC gets to cash in on the draft pick haul for a tremendous player. Why else get all those picks? We get a fast rebuild.

I get the sense that they're going to wait until they surge organically, then they'll hit the market hard with the picks. So they're a midseason candidate at best, I think.

But I definitely think them as a partner makes a ton of sense for both sides. But I also think they view Dort as a core piece.

Lmao the Lillard hate on here is comical at best. He has been better than Mitchell every single year he’s been in the league.
