Dante Exum: shoulder injury

Inigo Montoya must be rubbing off on you in stating the obvious. Nobody is saying Utah can force him not to take the QO.

Like I have posted before, Utah will take some risk with an overpay, with the idea that Dante will live up to his contract, in order to avoid Dante becoming unrestricted in one year. And Dante, who has now suffered 2 serious injuries, is not going to turn down 35-40 million to gamble on more money. He just watched George Hill get torched by turning down money, and the entire league is aware of what happened with Noel.

That's the thing... I don't think the Jazz give him 40M.

Lmao. What was your username? I usually remember the nut jobs, so it might bring back memories. If you don't want to admit your original name, that's ok. I'll just assume you are lying. Either way, being around for a long time doesn't add the slightest credibility to your opinion in this case. Cool story though.

I'm well aware that you have company in your erroneous conclusions. Idiots like to run in packs.

He was Write4u or however he might have spelled that.

Guy has legit mental issues. I'm not trying to be funny or score points, the guy has legit mental issues.

I was Write4u and for two years in the early days, I'd write up a report of each game (of course, I was watching on NBA League Pass). But I always got out a full report before the Trib and Des News, Weenie.

I changed my name after getting into it with a bunch of DWill lovers who kept bashing AK47 and me for defending him. Yeah, AK was injury prone. He was wiry and long like Dante, a speed merchant in his early days. Like Dante, he gave away strength, especially when he played PF, which actually was his best position because of his shot-blocking ability. But the deal with DWill was that he was not involving AK in the offense and trying to take over as the leader of the team. I got sick of the arguments so I pretended to leave the site and instead changed my name. Now you seem to be one of those mean-spirited types who bashes people who don't agree with you. I am not like that unless people start to do it to me. I, for one, am on your side about Dante and hope he recovers and reaches his potential. There's no reason to bash me because I have my doubts; I'm not the only one -- if you disagree, that's your prerogative but no reason to be mean-spirited.

Mental issues -- I just don't like being harassed like I was way back when. People were sending me vicious PMs which were just out right violent because I dared criticize their idol, DWill. Glad a lot of those people left the site. One Brow was the guy with the mental issues. He was the creator of Aint and other Alts, which were the source of the vicious PMs and personal attacks. I got sick of it so I was able to learn his phone number and called him personally and demanded that he stop. Everyone thinks I'm crazy but you know what, they did stop.

I'm not sure generalizing is a good way to go about this. Never mind other players and never mind other teams. The question ought to be simply should the Jazz pay Dante Exum big time money? Does the team believe he can develop into someone giving us quality minutes?

There's also the "Haywatd factor" at work. If the Jazz believe in Dante, they should negotiate a fair deal as soon as possible in free agency. Hayward was butt-hurt by KOC telling him to go shop the market. Don't know Jazz signing him immediately, or giving him what he wanted as an extension would have changed things in Gordon's case due to his Stevens love. But loyalty begets loyalty. Jazz need to step up and show faith in Exum, or acknowledge they'll perhaps have him at the QO for a year and then he's gone. And the latter would be a giant waste of time.

Nah you cant run a team like that, you need to take emotion out of the decision. Hayward just has a weak character

Problem with that question is that it's impossible to know. So it can't be answered and therefore is pointless.

I hear you. But Jack Strop wasn't talking about a situation where Dante gets a max offer. Just give him a fair deal if you believe in him. I think something like 4 yrs 28-30 sounds fair. I think Dante should sign it - even if he thinks he can still be a top tier pg. It would be great to show loyalty to the club that rehabs him twice over significant injuries and was still keen to see him progress.

He can still hit free agency as a 27 yr old and get his payday - if he deserves it.

If Dante signs the QO and bets on himself, he can't complain if it is the last NBA contract he signs.
