What's new

Dante Exum's "BAD" play is being blown way out of proportion.

He still looks lost and hesitant like 95% of his minutes..

how much resposibility for this is Quin's ? He didn't look so lost and uncertain before his benching and scapegoating. Now he looks stressed out to the max and gets yanked even when he hasn't really done anything wrong. I'm so glad so many minutes such a long leash was given to Mack ... cause that's been so worth it.

But seriously, he was always a long term project. It's just a bummer that the ACL and the trajectory / circumstances of the team has probably meant his development into some thing decent has changed from 3-4 years to more likely 4, 5 or 6 years. He might be better off at another team where he can just go play and not think so damned much like Mudiay has.

I really don't understand how he hasn't seen any D league time yet. I don't really see any down side to it.

completely agree. Really surprised, i think a 2-3 week stint would be much better for him than what he's doing now which is either not helping or making him worse.

I'd like to also point out that I too am an Exum homer.

I'd like to say that you have done a masterful job at this post. It has masterfully robbed me of 5 minutes of my life I will never get back. Even the bolded parts basically say it's not his fault and places blame on the rest of the team. Get the **** out with this nonsense!!

5 miniutes... you obviously didn't watch the film. Glad I went to the effort just for you to ignore it and spew generic drivel.

The point I was trying to make is that even though I believe this year is purely recovery and getting him back up to speed, he is actually still doing his job.

The bigger issue for me is the "connectivity" on the defensive end when and combination of Dante, Lyles, Diaw, AB are subbed in. There's no doubt our offense struggles so I have no argument there besides Dante probably being at his lowest point in terms of confidence in his career.

nobody is going to watch 2 full game films just to see if some random poster is unbiased. I agree with your point, I agree with your take, but nobody is going to do that.

Downside would be if he went to the d league and sucked/got schooled by the scrubs in the d league.

Also, no one want to agree with "this nonsense" but no one has pointed out any errors in my analysis...

Why would we bother, it's an obviously highly biased review. It's never Exum's fault right? Lack of communication from his teammates, not having full strength in his knee yet? C'mon that is ****ing weak.

Maybe I'm doing this wrong, but it looks like he is the 2nd worst ever, behind some guy named "Yakhouba Diawara".

Dante will pass him in MP pretty soon anyway. Of course, he could pass "Bob Thornton" in PER if he plays a little better. We should sticky this thread so we can track his progress (regress?). ;-)

Maybe do an Exum Best Jazz PG of all-time thread similar to the Gobert one? I'm sure it won't be long before he's better than JLIII and Brevin Knight? He could conceivably catch Sundiata Gaines and even Keith McLeod by the time his rookie contract ends.

Exum has yet to play any basketball.
Can't count youth and HS, because, you know, it's a completely different game in Australia. Then he sat out a year. First year with the Jazz? Hey, he was a rookie dealing with culture shock. This season? Nope, can't count it. You need 2 years to recover from an injury. So Dante will really be a rookie next year.
