To me this means that Exum's next contract will be on the smaller side. He has not been healthy long enough to show anything that would justify a big contract. Increases the Jazz's chances of bringing him back IMO. Silver lining?

Does not matter if he takes QO or not. What matters is what it does to his fragile body and his state of mind. He already was landing on his *** on 90% of his drives, question is will he become even more hesitant to drive into the paint? Because lets accept it, scared Exum who does not drive into the paint is absolutely hopeless when it comes to potential. He will never become good 3 pt or midrange shooter so what does he have left to offer? Defense and passing from top of the key? Doubt any team will take a gamble on that.

So you basically haven't watched him since his rookie year. Why do you keep talking out of your *** when you don't watch games? Dante has made a lot of progress in terms of attacking the basket.

And he was recovering from his acl injury quite well. THAT was the injury that had me concerned, and Dante did not pull a Derrick Rose where he was afraid of getting hurt again. If Derrick Rose can still play in the NBA after the mental issues he's had with injuries, Dante will be just fine.

It's only 4 million. With his injuries, it would ve tough for him to turn down a multi year offer with more money.

His QO is $6,619,903 from what I see... Also... one has to assume he'd be thinking he's going to get more money after having a healthy season, rather than after having his second missed year out of 4. I guess we'll see how that one goes.

No. He does not qualify for the starter criteria, so his QO is the same as it would be for the 15th pick in the draft. Dante's QO is the same as the one Nerlens Noel just signed.

He made progress attacking basket, not becoming stronger and absorbing contact better. My point is he was so fragile that any contact would usually send him to the floor. Now after this injury I am questioning how he will be psychologically more than physically.

After his knee injury he attacked even more. He wasn't injured this time attacking the basket. He will be fine psychologically.

You could make just as good of an argument he will be more hungry for success.

You could say he wasn't attacking the basket but he was taking a shot under the basket, and he took a shot in more ways than one. I think it would be only natural that he would be a little gun shy after this injury. Hopefully, he will overcome this setback too.

I can understand maybe being cautious on a highly contested shot but TJ Warren wasn't contesting Exum's shot ,he came flying in wildly after the fact, turning his back to Exum and crunched him. That's not something you prepare for or plan for.

Exum has shown he has the mental toughness and composure to come back from ACL surgery and through hard work reclaim his elite 1st step back. The shoulder injury/surgery wont impact that.I just hope he rehabilitates himself to play for the Jazz and not another team.
