Glad you are so jovial, but since no one is saying that, what is the source of your laughter?
Of course, but will he ever reach this 'potential'? It's been season after season of the same thing. Eventually you may have to just give up.
He's also a guy who I believe will be valued much lower once statistics become more advanced in basketball. He's still a dude that's primarily judged by how well he is doing by the old-fashioned PPG stat. He does this well, but with his high usage rate and inefficiency, is he a guy that a team should be comfortable giving that many possessions to? Are those points he gets better off trying to be manufactured in some other way? It's up for debate. And, of course, his defense is underwhelming.
He's really athletic tho and does a lot of stuff other players on the team can't physically do. That's cool.
Maybe then by the end of his contract he'll have had enough time, and if he's the same player then he won't be re-signed and he'll walk for NOTHING!!!

IMO, this is nothing more than Locke, a Jazz employee, taking the slant the ownership and front office want him to take. Jazz can't keep Alec beyond his contract. Just do the math: Hayward, Favors, Gobert, Hood, Exum and Lyles will likely put Utah very close to, if not over, the tax threshold. It's probable one of those six may even need to go. It also means the rest of the team has to be comprised of rookies and vet minimum players.
Jazz made their choice of Hood over Burks (and I agree). But I wish Utah would build a player up ( to increase trade value), instead of ripping him apart to justify to the fans and create a false reason to trade him.

Locke did by saying Jingles could get minutes over Burks. What was Burks' 3pt % last season. Granted his efficiency around the rim took a big dip, but he could barely raise his arm. Take his 3pt % last year and his penetration and finishing from the season before: that's a helluva good player, better than Jingles ever was even in his prime.

Locke has often formed an opinion of a certain player and then cherry-picked stats to support his opinion. He's hardly an independent analyst. There aren't any in the Salt Lake market.

And you're cherry-picking his 3pt% from last 'less-than-half-a' season. Why are you ignoring his 2pt%, EFG% and TS%?

I know we're all happy that Hayward has become bigger & stronger, but I'm kinda/sorta starting to get a little suspicious of Hayward's rapid physical growth... From what he looked like as a rookie until now, the changes in his physique remind me of how Barry Bonds went from a skinny lanky kid to a bulked up monster. Those kinds of massive changes usually don't come without some sort of chemical "assistance". I hope I'm wrong because the NBA suspends a player that tests positive for HGH 20 games (1st offense), 45 games (2nd offense) and lifetime ban from the NBA on the 3rd offense.
