Locke was pushing that 1-13 stat and Enes in starting lineup = a loss stat hard. It took him almost a year to acknowledge half the variables at play. Why? Because Locke was protecting Corbin at the time. The whe Corbin's gone, he becane a little more honest. Locke is an establishment head with a motor-mouth.

No. But guess what - unprofessional behavior isn't uncommon at all in the media. They ask probing questions. And in larger markets, they are incredibly brutal. Far more brutal than fragile little Enes has ever experienced. If Kanter was truly referring to David Locke, then that's almost even worse for him - you want to tell me the guy is so insecure that he can't even handle one mildly tough media member?
Anyways this is all moot because I seriously doubt Kanter was referring to David Locke with those comments and I find the idea absolutely laughable.

I already said it wasn't just Locke. But since this a thread about Locke...
Locke is mild with some (Hayward, even before he started to really shine), and harsh (well more motive driven, given what he tries to prove at a given time) with others (Burks, Kanter, etc.).
Locke is still nothing compared to what you see regularly from the media in larger markets.

But Locke has an influence on Jazzland that most other media members don't have in their markets. Wether we love him or hate him, we still listen to his tip-off. Some of it is complete garbage, while some of it is brilliant. Wether you admit it or not, his opinion holds sway and influence here.
Other media members an blogger listen to locke as well, and less than factual opinuons/stat interpretations become recycled as gospel.
That really doesn't diminish from my point: If Kanter was really that affected by Locke, he's an extremely insecure mental midget and I would've hated to see him try to handle media in the larger markets. And in a larger market it wouldn't have just been one person from the media criticizing Kanter, it would've been a small army of them, with an influence over a much larger group of fans.

He was pushing that BECAUSE IT WAS RELEVANT INFORMATION AND IS BECOMING EVEN MORE RELEVANT WITH EACH PASSING GAME THAT KANCER IS GONE. Kanter had a horrific +/- for most of last season, both as a starter and coming off the bench. And the second they were rid of him, they went on a tear and they're a fundamentally different basketball team. When is it enough for you? What do you think you know about him that his teammates, front office personnel, and coaches didn't? Even OKC media is calling him out for being a chump. At what point do you and the rest of whatever your ilk are just acknowledge reality? That Kanter was a selfish player on the court, was disinterested or unable to play consistent winning basketball, and said some really ****ing stupid **** to the press isn't up for debate, so what is your point? If it has anything to do with Corbin, you can go ahead and treat this as a rhetorical question.

Also, as said before, I don't think it was just Locke. But he sprang to my mind. Your large market argument doesn't hold a lot of water to me. Around the league, Salt Lake is known as having the most opinionated/engaged fanbase. While the scrutiny is high on a national stage in markets like NY and LA, I think it is safe to say that the ferocity of judgement is just as severe, if not moreso, here.
Also, I'm not excusing Kanter. What he did was immature, wreckless, and will cost him fans and potentially dollars. It cost his team a win.
I just think there is some of the pregame that was taken out of context, and some of it could've been said to protect himself from the boos he thought he'd hear. Those who study psych know this behavior all too well. Some people who fear impending confrontation will sometimes create a confrontation. Also, he's immature, has a language barrier, and watches too much wrestling. But he's lying when he said the boos didn't bother him. He wants to be loved, and fearing he wouldn't get it, he created the opposite.
My theory.
****ing shame too. Some would have booed him, but most would've been fine with the trade request I feel. It was addition by subtraction with Rudy and Derrick.

There are soo many different variables. Have you seriously never considered the improved play before the break, Dante starting over Trey for defense, Rudy playing more, etc? Thise are all HUGE factors. OKC has had a very similar record to us post all star break, and Enes has been the second option on that team. Sure, their defense hasn't been great, but they've also lost three of their better defensive players (Ibaka, Roberson and Durant) and were without another until recently (Adams). I gaurantee OKC defense with all players healthy will be much better than it is now. OKC fans realize this too, because they haven't been trained to scapegoat. Yes, Kanter sucks at defense half the time, but lots of really good teams have hidden players like that.
