We aren’t trading for an actual superstar. Just the fools gold kind that won’t get us anywhere. Lol, Mitchell ain’t getting Cle over the top and already had a stacked team. Mitchell isn’t a guy that joins the team and you say they are going to win it all.

Lol. We have had ainge for a very short time. You already saying what he can and cant do. That is silly.
I disagree on what you say about mitchell. Cleveland now has a shot. Prior to mitchell joining they didnt.
Mitchell is a star player. This will be his 3rd or 4th all star appearance in a row. With many more to come.

We are just as likely to trade for a superstar as we are to draft one. Which is to say that neither thing is likely. At least with the trading oprion we get to see what the player looks like in the actual nba so if you can trade for a star its more of a sure thing. Drafting a star rarely works out the way the team expects it to. Way higher rate of failure when drafting a star vs trading for one.

Oh how may I count everything wrong with what you say.

Sure, no one can see the future but no one outside of jazz fandom would say we have any kind of chance. Lol

Lol, he hasn’t been the #1 option, he doesn’t even shoot the most on the team and Beasley and Sexton who both come off the bench are on par with him. He doesn’t have the killer instinct to be a star. Maybe in the future he develops that, but that doesn’t change the fact we should’ve tanked this year. Guys like Agbaji and Simone should be playing more to see what we truely have.

And if we are dealing in reality Markkanen isn’t leading us anywhere this year.

He’s 9th if 3pt %. He’s lacking superstar usage because he refuses to. Not because of sharing the ball. We have moments of sharing.
Lauri ranks 116th in touches and 148th in passes received. So you are saying he "refuses to be a superstar" means he refuses to touch the ball or have the ball passed to him?

You really are an idiot. Watch the games.

Our system prioritizes the open man, and Lauri is never the open man. Just like any other star player, he gets more closely guarded and they dont want him to have the ball. Hardy runs plays to get him the ball, but not nearly as much as other teams run for their stars. Why? Because our offense is damn effective with the system we have.. so dont fix it if it aint broken.

Can Lauri step up and be effective if we call his number more? No reason to believe he cant. Absolutely no evidence. In fact, he has plenty of 30+ games as evidence he can.

PS:
Its nice you drop the attempts required to get him down because 9th in NBA is just bad. No way 7" guy should rank that low.

i think Hardy has given Lauri alot of opportunities already to succeed. its up to Lauri to take it up a notch. He may be the most efficient scorer in our lineup but still playing like a #2 guy. somebody need to tell him its ok to ballhog sometimes and impose his will on a defender. you can see clarkson , sexton and beasley take their turns. there are plenty of plays when Lauri just pass the ball when a defender is in front of him. why not beat the guy instead ? if he keep on doing this he wont have many touches come playoff time.
