I see the Lakers are looking to salary dump Loel Deng and Tim Mozgov. Would they add anything to the Jazz mix?

If we lose Hayward, just imagine this lineup as a consolation:
PG and SG interchangeably Exum and Russell
SF Hood
PF Randle, Lyles, Bolomboy
C Gobert
Not a bad little rebuild...
That lineup would probably be a big reason why we would lose Hayward.
I'm glad you started this thread. I almost did yesterday, but I could feel Cy waiting to slap me electronically.
I like Mozgov, but we don't need him for his cost since we have Gobert. Honestly, I would seriously consider a trade for Luol Deng. I've always liked him. He's declining and he's on an awful contract, but it's not fair to blame his production last year on him when that team was so young and bad. In a system, he could be a poor man's Iggy.
The only way I take Deng is for the following - D'Angelo Russell, a future 1st rounder OR Julius Randle, and Deng for Burks and Diaw or maybe Favors and Diaw.
LA does it to shed Deng. They are looking to trade Russell right now just to get into the top 12. Burks makes $7 per year less than Deng and he's only got 2 more years where Deng has 3. To convince LBJ and George to come to town, they are going to have to shed Deng's contract. If they insist on Favors' expiring deal, we could get even more.

Better than:
Exum
Hood
?
Favors
Gobert
Remember, this trade idea of mine is IF HAYWARD LEAVES
You only do this IF hayward re-signs

Not bad? That's ****ing horrible. Unless your trying to get the 1st pick in the draft, then good job. We go from a defensive minded team to a sieve. Play Hood and Russell or Exum out of position, and add a PF who doesn't play much defense. Gobert is great on defense but he can't guard 4 of the 5 guys. The only defender on your starting lineup not named Gobert is Exum. and you don't have hardly any shooting on that lineup either.I'm glad you started this thread. No it's not better. It's younger, but it's far from better.Better than:

The Jazz really got to hope some team gets in a 3-way deal with Cleveland/Indy to take Love and combine offer more than what LA can give up to get George.
The bad news is that this makes the LBJ to LA 2018 more realistic. Could push Hayward into going to the East.
