I believe he went to Milwuakee to take over as GM and maybe even Pres of Bball Ops after the old guy retired. But the ownership unexpectedly chose young gun Jon Horst to take over, so Zanik came back to Utah.
 
Is this a promotion or a "promotion" for DL? People on other forums seem to think it's a "promotion" in name only but more of a sort of demotion into a managerial role. If the Jazz were a dumpster fire I'd think demotion, but there's a good organization here and so many former GMs in the front office that I don't think it is.
 
We know what this move is about... continuity/chemistry/dna/likeability were elevated to Executive VP so they were aliviated from some everyday task burden.
Now they can continue building continuity at a higher level! :eek:

Ok... nonsense apart, Zanik appears to be a highly regarded executive the Jazz are probably trying to keep in town for the long run.... you know... continuity!;)
 
This seems like an appropriate time to mention in Dennis Lindsey's entire tenure. His best ever free agent profile signing was Joe Johnson.
Hopefully Zantac will give us some calming effects of free agency.
