More like interviewing Messina! He's ours. Calling it now.
isnt Messina in LA?
? He's in Europe...
They are probably doing both. The draft is coming up...
And no one has started a thread about it?
does Messina speak english?
I know right? How dare they!
If we hire Messina, will his assistant be Kenny Loggins...Sorry, I couldn't resist.
No, but that won't be a problem. Most of the NBA players don't, either. At least the kind you can understand in an interview.
Seriously, I'm sure Messina speaks English well enough. Most Euros can speak a few languages and English is usually one of them as it's often a required language in schools. And a bunch of them speak better English than people who were born in the U.S. At least that's been my experience from my travels.
Would be very interesting to look at the stamps on the passports of Lindsey and Zanik. Could be just coincidence, but the Jazz also have an international scout. I expect he'd normally be the one doing all the legwork; he did on Gobert. But in advance of the draft, Lindsey and Zanik may also want to get an idea of Neto's status and speak with his agent.
Jody should dig a little deeper and see when this trip was scheduled. Has it been on their calendars for quite a while, or was it hastily put together right at the end of the season? If the latter, then we know the real purpose is to have some initial talks with Messina.
Good post. I am sure that there are three objectives while over there. Messina, Neto and 23rd pick scouting.
Did someone really ask if he speaks English? Really! Really!
I would really hope DL is smart enough to only consider coaches that can actually communicate easily with players and management. Worst question ever brought up on jazzfanz
I would be very happy with Messina.
Watch any of the video interviews of him, he talks gooder English than most American English talkers.
Maybe also visiting Tomic.
Yes and you can understand him. He does have an accent but it isn't too harsh that you can't understand him.
well thank you for that nice compliment young man
Planned scouting trip well in advance. Released Corbin yesterday (metaphorically).
Doubt they're connected.
All these comments about how well he speaks English remind me of these guys:
