What's new

Dennis Schroeder "will seek other opportunities to be a starter"...

can't wait for this to become Reggie Jackson 2.0, and having Dennis cry 'tears of joy' on twitter.

Yes he does. We don't know if he said such things previously internally and they were not addressed enough for his liking.
Then he plays a good Eurobasket and expect Budenholzer to build some sets that play to his strengths.
After the preseason he's disappointed it didn't play out how he expected and now he's trying new ways to improve the situation for himself.

If he was asking to be traded, for Teague to be traded, or to start at any point last year, and was mad at not being appeased, then holy ****. The dude is talented, but he is in no place to be asking for handouts.

and again, this is just par-for-the-course for him. He's already an established hot-head. Calls his coach 'not smart' this past summer, gets in spats with his coaches/teammates in Germany before he jumps to the NBA.

I will be onboard with making a trade-package for Schroeder after next offseason (one of few competent backups playing behind a PG) if 1) Teague signs with Atlanta, and 2) we whiff in free agency next offseason, with the implication that Exum (or Burke) is not our answer at the 1.

Until then, let's please plz put this Dennis stuff to a rest.

I'm not really pushing Schroder. Though he does look pretty good. I wouldn't say he's a savior, but he probably would be an upgrade over Burke.

he strikes me as the Reggie Jackson type in a lot of ways, actually. If all pans out for him, he will probably have that trajectory.

PGs of that calibre can be had in this league. I don't think people realize how good this team will be if Exum pans. We owe it to our championship aspirations to focus on internal development, and try to get Gordon to re-sign.

Jazz FO goals should be as follows:

1) spend all year developing internally, and assessing team weaknesses at the end of the season
2) appease Gordon Hayward
3) maybe grab a vet PG on a two-year contract, if Raul and Burke lack competence, until Exum is ready to start (and play well).

2017 is the year to gun for the playoffs. Said that before Exum's ACL injury, and it's even more true now. Develop Hod and Burks. Figure to our PG situation. Keep nurturing Derrick's offense, and teach Rudy to exploit mismatches. 8th seed would be nice, but this is a development year. Kinda like the year OKC went to the playoffs in that core for the first time in 2010.

right because this can't be done through coaching staff and agents-- must be done through the media.

Shows Schro's immaturity, and your fanboyism.

Sorry man, but you're better than that.
Let me address your arguments real quick:
1) We don't know what happened internally or in the backgrounds with agents
2) Ppl don't always act rationally. And from my experience Dennis does not off the court.
3) I'm not a Schröder fanboy of any kind. I like how he plays on the court and that's it. Off the court, I most definitely don't support his antics. But I can separate between the two. If you ever read and correctly memorized stuff I wrote here about him, you'd know that.
4) One thing in this context we haven't discussed yet: There's always the possibility that this quote has been altered or thrown out of context to appear like this. The magazine that got this quote is a friggin tabloid. They sometimes do these things to get a better headline.

Well easy for your to say. These players sometimes have a different perception of themselves, their work, their progress.
And Dennis has always been very cocky.

I wouldn't want to trade Exum for Schroder, but I don't think Exum is a sure fire thing either.

I would probably rather trade Lyles. We need to get this point guard thing settled. The more prospects the better.

The Jazz just need to stop drafting bad players.

Which quite literally does not matter. Like, at all. Players get moved without public knowledge all the time. This is the expectation, in order to not throw the team who drafted you under the bus.
2) Ppl don't always act rationally. And from my experience Dennis does not off the court.

This is simply an invalid excuse for any human

I don't read your posts all the time-- but I know you're German, so I just put 1 and 1 together. It was the only explanation (to me) as to how you can excuse him of his antics as just "well he's JUST an NBA player u guys!"

Quotes appear in multiple sources, and it's easy to find them in context-- I'll spare you the time: I translated entire articles from German during the 2013 draft (I actually wanted us to draft Dennis with 14, but only because I thought Burke would be out of our reach) and the context was there. He's immature. Plain and simple.

We saw this again when he blamed his team's loss on his coach's "stupid idea" to foul when up 3 (very common) even though he missed a free-throw that would ice the game-- ROFLMAO. Classic Dennis.

"These players"? Name one player on the Jazz with Schröder's attitude problem.

This is the first time I have ever seen Dal be critical of a Euro.

i'm critical of lots of Euros, man. I just think their basements (for lots of players) isn't nearly as low as people think.

I think Tomic and Bjelica are NBA players capable of producing. Do I think they're all-stars? Nope.

99% sure I wanted Dennis and Rudy with 14 and 21, due to my well-known Euro love. Take that JFC.

Went out the window when we drafted Burke tho. Still happy with that trade, and what we got with 9 and 27.
