Well they were broke by tmz. And what good does that conversation? You can either assume it's truthful, you can assume it's a hoax money grab. You don't know **** what happened. If there's news about an outrageous settlement or a judge ruling sth or whatever the method is of deciding that case, then there's some stronger indications or fact to discuss about.
Right now it's on the level of: "Ye D-Rose is a scumbag, he's from the hood" - "no d-rose was raised properly, I don't buy he'd do that"
Some tinfoil hat level of discussion that scum like tmz engages in. So that's pretty much a tmz style thread.
I mean someone stated Rose has gang ties even though they were never confirmed. Rumours make ppl assume **** they don't know nothing about. Same here.
The most responsible thing one can do is not clicking these tmz links, lean back and wait for it to go its course before starting to judge someone.

The only facts that are out there is that D-Rose is someone who's pulling a "Dwight" and cheated on his ex.

Having been through a similar situation (false accusation of a serious crime) I am firmly in BTPs camp on this one. Until you've been on the raw end of that kind of deal you will have no clue how much it can **** you up. I'm sure glad my situation didn't become a TMZ style feeding frenzy because it was definitely bad enough as it was.

I'm reasonably certain that the number of actual rapes far outstrip the number of false accusations, and we're not even counting here the many, many rapes that don't even get reported. So if we're simply playing the odds in a betting situation, bet on the woman, not the man.

Joe Badadonuts gives a reason why he's inclined to empathize with the accused, but I'm guessing most men don't know so intimately someone who's been falsely accused.

So, back to the question, why do so many men have such a hard time emphasizing with women on issues of rape or sexual assault and/or so quickly assume that the woman is lying?

Short of imputing to me the bad faith that BTP does in asking this question (and he does so falsely), I find this to be a very curious phenomenon.

AND, just so there's no misunderstanding, I don't know who did what here; I don't make any assumptions. I hope it's not true, but I can't so easily dismiss it, and I'm not inclined to the view that women so often and so casually lie about being raped.

I emphasized one pov because the tone in this thread was one that to me heavily implied that Rose was guilty. And I wasn't saying one party was right. I just asked ppl to refrain public conversation that solely relies on speculation and assumptions derived by other background intel majorly unrelated to said alleged incident, because they heavily impact the lives and reputation of real human.

German law states someone accused of a crime is not guilty until proven otherwise and I heavily dislike the opposite direction!

And if you think I'm unable to relate to the female POV here, I've dated a girl in the past over a long time that had experienced sexual abuse in her young teenager years and never went public with it. I'm simply just puzzled why ppl can't refrain from speculation in such a matter. It's also questionable how that record went public. The person who decided to leak that to the press is a pretty big a-hole in my eyes. That's something that shouldn't become public until a judge/jury has ruled that case or it was settled.

Just on its surface her story seems very odd.

So, just so we can get the outline right, let's see if I have it.

She was dating Rose for more than a year.

He frequently asked for sexual activities that she refused to engage in.

The date of the incident he drugged her, but she managed to leave before the effects fully kicked in.

Rose and his friends went to her residence, broke in and gang raped her while she was under the influence of the drugs. However, she came in and out of consciousness just enough to know for certain that she was forcefully assaulted by multiple rapists.

She did not file criminal charges.

It has taken years for her to go public.

Is that the story?

to clarify a little bit - - according to Rose, she was not a girlfriend per se; they were in a consensual relationship but it was not an "exclusive" relationship - - they were both also apparently involved with others during this time as well
