SALT LAKE CITY — In the National Basketball Association, skills pay the bills.

There’s no denying that Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell has a lot of those.

The NBA’s top-scoring rookie hasn’t received an invite to participate in the slam dunk contest but will compete in the Skills Challenge on All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles on Saturday, Feb. 17, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Mitchell appeared to confirmed the news by retweeting Wojnarowski with three praying hands emojis.

He has also been selected to participate in the 2018 MTN Dew Kickstart Rising Stars Challenge on Friday, Feb. 16. He is the 14th Jazzman to play in a Rising Stars or rookie challenge.

In 2017, former Jazz star Gordon Hayward finished second in the Skills Challenge in New Orleans.

Mitchell, 21, was named Western Conference Rookie of the Month for December and averages 19.2 points, 3.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds in his first season out of Louisville.
