Diop Added To Coaching Staff As An Associate

At first I was like "Damn, why do we want one of the bigger lottery bust in history to be a coach" but then again, most coaches never even make it to the NBA.

Isn't he the guy Shaq said was "kinda soft"?
Correction - It was Dampier, not Diop

For Diop, it is clearly a big break. I suspect he will be used to actually practice against the big men. I'm not talking about taking part on full-court practices, but post moves and things like that. He'll teach things like defensive positioning and be able not only to show how to defend but actually bother the bigs when they make their moves.

I'm OK with the addition, but I have to confess that I'm growing worry about the Jazz offense in general. It is not that Snyder isn't a serious or committed professional, but I worry that he may be not as knowlegeable as he should be in order to be a successful NBA coach. Otherwise, why the Jazz keep running such a simple offense and sucking at it? If that's the case, if Snyder is not that knowlegeable, perhaps he should surround himself with experienced and savvy veteran coaches, or at least with coaches who were bright players.
