Disappointing facts: Jazz vs. Playoff Teams

For all those that claim they remember the 80's-90's Jazz teams, there sure are a lot of folks who forget how ****ing long it took to get to the Finals.

you can remember the finals teams without having even seen the buildup. I remember the finals vividly, and never really payed much attention before (i was 10 in 97').

just sayin, but i agree. The PROBLEM, is that teams dont stay together long enough to "buildup" to greatness nowadays.

Not only that but it appears we are 1-1 against playoff teams with a full roster. That is .500 last I checked.

For comparison purposes with a couple of other playoff race "peers" (that's for you Unborn Gore) let's examine injuries further:

As of January 29, 2017:
Player games missed due to injury:
Miami 159
Philadelphia 143
Memphis 132
Utah 104
Toronto 103
Dallas 102
LA Clippers 94

Memphis has suffered more missed games due to injury than the Jazz, yet they have a better record vs. playoff teams than us.
The Clippers have suffered nearly the same number of missed games due to injury as the Jazz, yet they also have a better record vs. playoff teams than us.
As far as the quality of the players that are lost via injury is concerned, from a VORP (value over replacement player) metric, the Clippers have suffered more than anyone as their missed games involve superstar level players.
How is it that these teams can withstand injuries and still have a winning record vs. Playoff teams, but we need to rely on the injury excuse to explain our poor record vs. Playoff teams?

As quin Snyder said when asked about the jazz poor record against playoff teams "I didn't even know about it. I do know we are 7-3 in our last 10."

nevertheless, it's been frustrating to see our indifferent play, the way the Rox are going 3rd seed could be up for grabs for whoever really picks it up. I'm less optimistic atm unless we start playing noticably better in the next 10 games.

Eh, I have not been frustrated with this season at all. Especially considering the injuries.
We have an all star plus another guy very deserving.
We have an above average starting caliber pg.
We have a coach who I have heard mentioned in coach of the year discussions.
We will be in the playoffs! And have a good shot at homecourt advantage in a stacked western conference!
Top 10 ranked offense and defense!
Lots of national recognition.
A guy in the top of the league in three point shooting.
Tons of depth.
Veteran experience and leadership.
Positional versatility.
Have not even had to use any of our future assets to achieve all this either so we still have tons of picks plus salary cap room plus lots of players on good contracts to improve things if there are any deals to be had to make us better.
And we are finally almost healthy.

This season has been fantastic imo and I think it's just going to get better.
